Catching sight of the irritatingly smirk on Marcus’s face, Alpha Dalton’s eyes darkened and narrowed down into slits. “In case you forgot, let me remind you that I’m the Alpha of the Crescent Moon pack. I need to make sure that no one and I repeat, no one is being harassed.” He said through gritted teeth. “Who is getting harassed?” Marcus feigned ignorance. Alpha Dalton shifted his gaze on me for a split second before looking back at Marcus.

Jason shut the door behind him and dropped a folder onto the desk, the photos and printouts sliding out in a loose fan. "Those two men Lauren introduced you to at the gala? The ones from the 'wealth advisory firm'?" He said the last part with heavy air quotes. "They're not advisors, Curtis. They're from Halloway Vance."

He had dirty blonde hair and light blue eyes. He was the shortest of the group, and also probably the most reserved.

My throat closed with tears “Please don’t leave us.” His gaze flickered to Axel and Zarek. “Take care of her.” “You don’t have to tell me that old man” Curtis smiled faintly, then coughed, his body shuddering as he went still. A sob tore from my chest as I collapsed against him, my hands curling my fist into his blood-soaked shirt. Curtis was gone. And Varda had won.
