The blanket was pulled up to her chin, and her eyes were closed. Damon stood there for a moment, watching her. For some reason, Talia looked more peaceful. He shook his head and went to his desk. He turned on the small lamp and opened the book. The first chapter was about how Wolfsbane was formed, and he read to himself.

The crystals above us flared, magic surrounding us as Talon reached for a book.
