I sucked it up quickly, and decided it was pointless to beat around the bush. "I was hoping that I would be able to read a book with information on Reavers. I don't know much about them, but if I may be one, I think I have a right to know more." I said, hoping he would know what book I meant, this being a dream and all. "You mean the book from the other day?" He questioned, as he snapped his fingers and produced a book with a silver spine. It was the exact book from my last dream. I longed to get my hands on it.

Talon lurched inside - eyes wide with uncharacteristic fear, his massive frame disordered with heaving breaths. He opened his mouth, but the only sound that emerged was a strangled, meaningless croak of abject horror. I surged upright, the universe itself seeming to tremble with foreboding at whatever cosmic cataclysm could unhinge my most stalwart lieutenant's composure so utterly. "Out with it!" I thundered, the foundations quaking beneath my impatient fury. When Talon finally found his voice, the words emerged in a breathless torrent that punched through my senses like profane revelation:

He attempted to thrust the considerations absent, but they came thundering back, and he was frail against them. Talon murmured, putting his container on the table. The winged creatures kept singing as if they were asking him to share in their enchant, but he didn’t indeed take note them. “Get me out of here.” Zane’s voice cut through the moment, a silken growl that sent a chill down Kevin’s spine. “Not so fast, Talon,” he said, stepping from the shadows near the throne, his amber eyes glinting with menace. His shaved head gleamed, his claw-mark tattoos stark against his pale skin, and he wore a sleeveless black tunic, his claws extended, sharp and black. Rhea was at his side, her jet-black hair braided tight, her cruel smile a slash of white, her dagger in hand. Behind them, a dozen Black Shadow wolves emerged, their amber eyes glowing, their snarls a chorus of death.

“Why?” He didn’t answer. Instead, he reached out and traced his fingers along the edge of the open page, his touch careful, reverent. And I felt it again — that sensation of being pulled. Not by the book. By him. “Why are you really here, Talon?” His throat bobbed. “Because when I saw your name in that book, when I saw you in the mirror…” “You looked into a Mirror of Echoes?” He nodded once. “Then you know,” I said quietly. “You saw it.”

It was just their appearance and movements. In the Red Claw pack, Talon, whose mind doesn't remain the same as before, becomes restless, and even his wolf suddenly gets weak. He had sensed a lot. He knew about Marcus and Kael's collaboration, but he wasn't sure if they had performed the ancient ritual like the rumors had unveiled. Talon decided to order a full-scale war; he had called upon his strongest warriors and soldiers, and Dimitri and Charles were not left out.

The man’s taste in music was all over the place. I selected an album by Shadow of Intent and put it on, the heavy sounds of deathcore pumping from the speakers. It matched the darkness I felt hovering in the pit of my stomach. I poured myself a steaming cup of coffee and padded over to the bookshelf. I ran my fingers along the spines of the books, musing at the worn edges and faded titles. Talon’s collection was as eclectic as his music taste — everything from classic literature to thrillers, a few well-loved poetry collections, and even some philosophy texts were scattered amongst the numerous motorcycle manuals.
