David saw the disappointment in Beatrice’s face. “Sit down, Beatrice.” Beatrice followed her father. She took the stool to the side and sat down. Then David touched her hands. “I’m sorry. I-If it was not because of me, this would never have happened. But I never agreed with him, Beatrice. I will never do that. Your mother will hate me,” David pleaded. He meant Beatrice's biological mother, who was already dead. “I know, Dad. Sorry for running away without hearing your explanation. I-I was worried that you would agree with your wife.”

"Fine, let's withdraw that report now." "Miss think that easy?" David smiled lightly at me. I clenched my fists. Damn it! "What do you want?" I shouted. "Only you dear." David kissed me. I just closed my eyes. I glanced at Gerald for a moment, he just watched with a hurt gaze. "You know, I didn't have a miscarriage?" "Yes, actually the mother told me not to say Miss." "Why?" Why is my mother, always acting antagonistic? Mother should help me and support me.

Helen confronted David, she didn't yell at him but tried to talk to him in a calm voice because she knew he was easily triggered. "She didn't mean to bump on you David, she is just a child you know." David did not acknowledge her but continued playing games on his phone. "You can be nicer to her for my sake." Helen continued, she placed her thin hands on her chest. The long gown she was wearing hung loosely on her body. "Get off my back, I don't care about either of you, and don't push me with your bickering." Helen knew it was time to retreat, but it was her daughter after all and she must protect her from bad people so she went to where he was sitting and squatted facing him.

They all went into the house. The next day, Megan and Peter walked in a quiet field. They both wore all-black outfits. She wore a plain black dress that was below her knee with a black stiletto. Her father wore a black suit. It was afternoon, the sky was clear and the sun was not too hot. They reached a grave and stopped. The name written on the stone was Violet-Felicity Zendel and below the name was, Baby Zendel. It was the grave of her mother who had died of a heart disease when she was eight years old. “What’s her name.” “Margaret,” David said. His voice had gone tight. “Margaret Ellis. My mother’s older sister.” He pressed his fingers to his eyes. “She’s not a bad person. Or she wasn’t, not really. She raised me after my mother got sick when I was sixteen. She worked two jobs to make sure I finished school.” He paused. “But she’s always been bitter about money. About what she felt the Cole family owed us after my father died and nothing came our way.”

Elise came from a disadvantaged background; she was the eldest among three younger siblings—a brother and two sisters. Her parents, who showed a clear preference for their male child, had forced her to leave school prematurely to contribute financially. Elise still had to support her family with her earnings each month. Amelia took out her checkbook and wrote a check. “Elise, I know you had some form of relationship with David. Regardless of what you

“David here is interesting.” “How so?” Janet couldn’t see what he was seeing. “Here.” He highlighted David’s mother's name. “Elizabeth Gaines, but if she was married it would be Elizabeth Jones. Hence the initials EJ.” Janet gasped not wanting to believe. “No David isn’t a killer.” She wanted it to be true, but now she wasn’t so sure. Could the man that was so obsessed with her be the man strangling women? Was all his moral values all out the window now that he was already a sinner? That didn’t make a person a killer though.

I shouldn’t have mentioned something that will make you sad,” David said with a little apology.
