"So why show yourself now? Why come back to visit my brother's grave?" Jeremy sighed softly, his tone unusually calm. "I knew it. I knew this whole thing was a trap. "But a few days ago, I was diagnosed with cancer. I don't have long left anyway. At this point, death doesn't scare me anymore. "I just thought... before I die, seeing Jason one more time would make it worthwhile." He paused, then looked up at me. "By the way, what exactly were Jason's final words before he jumped?" There was genuine curiosity mixed into his voice. Clearly, that was one of the reasons he had come.

That idea somehow felt worse. The End wasn't motivated by hatred. Or revenge. Or conquest. It genuinely believed it was helping. The memory shifted again. Showing stars dying. Worlds collapsing. Civilizations fading naturally. Time claiming everything. Orion gestured toward the vision. "The End witnessed the first death." The stars dimmed. "It witnessed the second." Another dimming. "The thousandth." The vision grew darker. "The millionth." Silence. The forgotten Sovereign looked toward them. "Eventually it decided death was unacceptable."

I did not know how long I lay there. Time felt different after death. I could no longer feel the cold marble beneath me, but I could still see the foyer, the blood on the floor, and Adrian standing above my body as if he were waiting for me to give up the act. Death had taken my voice and left me only enough awareness to watch what came after. Adrian did not call for help right away. “Enough, Evelyn,” he said, pale but stubborn. “Your parents will be here in the morning. Stop this now.”

His forehead was covered in blood, which blended with the rain and smeared across his entire face. Eli stood apart from all of it. He didn't even cry as he watched the doors close. He just stood in the rain as he watched the whole cremation process. I floated in the air, taking it all in. I then looked at Eli—his face pale but still full of life—and at the space above his head. It was completely empty now. That damned countdown had vanished. I broke into a smile, thinking that it was truly wonderful. I was glad that Eli was still alive, as it meant that my death hadn't been completely in vain.

Thali POV What the hell is happening? "I can still convince myself to believe you, but may I know who is this Driana?" My head was like a buzzling bump. I don't see any affect of a psycho or any seek on Nadjiana. I just don't get what she said! Of course, I believe in ghost, nun, phantom or any scary stuffs. But I don't think being dead was a big deal to Nadjiana. All of people will be gather to death.

He killed me. All things that have life will eventually wither away — that is the fundamental truth of life. We will all wither away and die sometime in the future. After we have fought the wars, faced the trials and tribulations, overcome the challenges, we all will die at the end. After pushing through the hurdles of our youth and adulthood, after trying our hardest to stay alive and survive till the next day, we will all still die at the end. This just tells us that all is vanity.

Even if I didn't want Elena's grave beside mine, she was still buried next to me in the end. At least I was going back to my own world soon and didn't have to be tormented by these people after death. "Two dead? Good. Only one cold devotee left." "I've got nothing left to say. I just hope Daniel will be happy in his next life instead of running into these people." All the comments were now on my side. Deep down, I did feel a bit of warmth upon knowing this. My spirit gradually dispersed, and after a very, very long time, I finally woke up.

He cupped my face as I frowned. “Death is the exception to that though, my love. No one can outrun death. We all die someday. It’s just part of the natural order of life... Stars die. Flowers die. People die. It’s sad I know but death has to happen so birth can happen. It’s just a cycle and we are all in that never-ending loop. I hope my death is really far off in the future but if something were to happen to me, you have been such a beautiful star in the night sky for me. It shines so brightly through the darkness.” He smiled lovingly as I kept crying.

This was not the end. It was only the beginning.
