When the Heart Dies

When the Heart Dies

"You'll say anything, won't you? "And on top of that, Scarlett was busy working. You're trying to pin this on her? "Are you even human?" Seth chimed in as well. "Exactly. We don't even know if this person actually died or not, and yet he's pulling this stunt to scare everyone."

Death Comes in Twos

Death Comes in Twos

Ethan frowned heavily at the sight, but he still performed a routine examination of me and my pup's vitals out of occupational habit. The cloying stench of blood hit Toby with such force that he instinctively recoiled, his hand flying to his nose. The oppressive heat had already begun its grim work, accelerating the decay of our corpses. He stood outside the basement, refusing to take another step inside. "What the heck is Joyce doing? She's stunk up the whole basement!" he complained. Barney lowered his head, not daring to make a sound, and simply glanced at Ethan from time to time. Ethan took off his gloves with a solemn expression on his face. "It's confirmed that Luna Joyce and her pup a

The Third Year After My Death

The Third Year After My Death

The face was all scratched up, and anything on her body that could prove her identity was taken away, so we suspect it's an intentional murder. Hearing that the body was salvaged from Salakole, Winston paused for a moment, then he put on his sterile gloves with a poker face. I floated in mid-air, staring at the man in front of me. Three years... It had been three years since I died. After I died, my soul was trapped in Salakole, suffering in the fierce wind and freezing weather all day. Until someone found me, they brought me back. But I didn't expect that Winston was the person who would personally dissect me.

Fate's Pawn: Four Horsemen

Fate's Pawn: Four Horsemen

"Let me show you some of his first acquisitions. Then you can tell me if you believe in him as much as you do now. He's not who you think he is, and not fit for you either." "I don't want to hear anymore." Holly turned away. "Quix is Quix, and nothing you say will change that." "Then, let me show you," Death snapped his fingers and a globe appeared in his hands. Inside it was Quix wielding his scythe, and killing as he strode through a crowd. There was no pause, there was nothing but a deep laugh coming from the man she knew so well. "Quix," Holly whispered as she reached out. This couldn't be him. But the eyes that sparkled as he reaped the souls, those were his.

Death Contract

Death Contract

That's when I smiled. Looks like she's the Guardian of Soul of these centuries. The 2000th centuries, Guardian of Soul. "Dean, please listen to me. Don't go to your office just for today." That's when I gasped for breath. In fact, no matter what a person does to avoid their death, nothing will happen, he will not die today. He will also die the next day because that is the design of death. They would just give the death compiler a lot of work for what they were doing and they would bother us, who still had to hunt for fifteen souls per day and ten at night. Let's say we don't sleep and rest but don't they know that it took a long time to make death notes and reports to be forwarded to the mi

The Death He Never Died

The Death He Never Died

I don't see the issue. Aria's expression darkened, and she shot me a venomous glare, clearly taken aback by my articulate defense. Melissa, however, was the one to step in. "Noelle, don't be too hard on Mrs. Scott. She's just following our local custom. When someone dies, we keep them at the funeral home for a few days. It gives everyone a chance to pay their respects before the burial." Aria quickly nodded. "Exactly, now let's put my son to rest. Melissa always makes sense."

Shock of My Death

Shock of My Death

I couldn't imagine what might happen if something went wrong at that event. I never expected this. Arianna had stolen everything from me, and still, it wasn't enough for her. She wouldn't even spare my mentor. I was spinning in circles, frantic, helpless. But there was nothing I could do. After all, I was dead. And in the very way I had always feared most. A double death, with a baby inside me. Only, it didn't happen on the hospital's operating table like I had imagined. No, I died in my lakeside cottage, alongside a little kitten who thought it had finally found a home, a new life.

Yeah everything looks all pristine and innocent during the day, but night time around the packhouse can be pretty fucking terrifying. And I’m the reaper himself.
