The Book of Deceive

The Book of Deceive

“We don't have the funds.” “Great,” Agirlwar turned and left for the vault. He didn't know that the vault was empty. Not a single copper remained. How else could he buy this large castle for such a small sum? All thanks to the previous owners and their parades. Who know what else could he find? SHAHS I Alaim lowered his pen, thinking what to write next. The book stood on the right corner of the shelf. The theme of the book was more than interesting for him. He looked at the name of the author. The name read:

Blurred Lines

I do it because of – argh, never mind, let’s just leave it at that. Greg on the other hand is different. He reads because he wants to. So many books already these couple of months I have known him. The books on his bookshelf are neatly back. Interestingly it is packed in such a way accordingly to each book’s length. Most likely packed in alphabetical upon close inspection, would not surprise really if it is the case. As my eyes glided over the books, my attention caught a particular one: Depression and mental health.

His Ex Mistress, His Enemy

His Ex Mistress, His Enemy

Already much more soothing than sad songs and the sound of explosions. Tall shelves lined the walls, crammed with books. Of course this man had a library that looked like it belonged in an interior magazine spread. A low chandelier hung in the middle of the room above a long solid wood table, a few chairs, one couch in the corner with a folded throw. I walked along the first shelf, letting my fingertips brush the spines. Gold lettering, embossed titles, lettering already faded. The first row was full of classics. Dostoyevsky, Tolstoy, Dumas. Of course Zane owned a collection of depressed men who liked to write about sin and consequences. Fitting.

Hello guys, my connection’s finally back to normal! I’m so sorry once again—the storm really messed things up and the recent chapters weren’t as good as I wanted them to be. I’ve already re-edited the previous chapters that had errors, but my editor hasn’t confirmed the updates yet. Please bear with

Trapped: Into the Unknown

Trapped: Into the Unknown

I am thinking on how to get away from this. I haven't even started but looking into these books? My mind is already aching, I feel sick! I messed up my hair and collapsed into the chair. How the hell am I going to start? I have no choice. I heaved a depressed sigh and scanned the books. I am looking for a title that will catch my attention, but these are books. Never in my entire life will I be caught by a book.

The Better Place

" That's called numbness. A state of being completely numb. " " Really? " Essy asked. " Yeah. " " But how is it possible that you know this but I don't? " Stacy questioned. " Well, I read about it in a book and there the Writer explained it in detail. " " Oh wow! So what's the title of the book? " " Depressed: love yourself. " " So it's not romance? " " Yeah, it isn't. It's mostly about a unique siblings relationship. " " Oh. Who wrote the book? "

Bookworm Little.

Bookworm Little.

I walked over to the children's books area, I was thankful no one was around as I sat down in a beanbag after grabbing a few books to read. "Ella, stop slouching around and get to work" my manager yells at me, there was no one in the shop while I was sitting around here. I looked up to see a woman standing next to the register, I huffed angrily and put the book away before walking over to the nice looking lady. "Hi ma'am, how may I help you?" I ask the woman, she was only about five feet tall, with brown long hair and brown eyes. "Hello, I'm here for the new werewolf story" she says looking at me, I tried my best to hide under my own overgrown bangs.

His Depression Got Me Dumped

His Depression Got Me Dumped

I was going to visit Mom after the gathering last night, but Asher's depression flared up again. "I only did all that to cheer him up. Once he's better, we'll get back together. And I hope you'll stop causing trouble for him. He got depressed because we got married. I can't just ignore him." I looked at her. Dark circles shadowed her eyes. She'd probably spent the whole night with Asher again. My gaze dropped to the divorce papers. Our names sat side by side, close enough to touch. When I didn't respond, her patience ran out.

The Haunted's Kiss of Regret and Repentance

The Haunted's Kiss of Regret and Repentance

I looked at the fanfiction books, the romance novels, and the other books filed with depressed characters, "I think the negative energy that I've been gathering in my room is what makes my room susceptible with the negative energy that Rian already gave me." Izzy looked at the books she was holding, and rechecked the books. I also looked at every book cover that I could, and saw that my analyzation was right. I surrounded myself with books that didn't help me face the reality I had, and taught me to run away from reality.

My 90-day Marriage to my Ex-boss

My 90-day Marriage to my Ex-boss

The study was dark, so I opened the blinds and took in the room. It was very... August. Brown. Black. More black. Not a single color brave enough to survive in here. There was a minibar. I wasn't surprised to find it stocked mostly with expensive whiskey. The bookshelf took up almost an entire wall. Business books. Finance books. Leadership books. Books about making money. Books about keeping money. Books about probably becoming even more unbearable than he already was. Not one novel. Not even a guilty pleasure romance. What a sad life.

Frequently Asked Questions

Hmm, not sure I have a fully formed take. I read 'No Longer Human' last month and everyone called it depressing, but it felt more like a tragic portrait of a soul that couldn't connect. Maybe the difference is whether you see the character as a victim of themselves (tragic) or a victim of the world (depressing)? But that's too simplistic. Back to lurking—curious what the literature majors here will say.
