Responsibilities that come with being an Alpha. The bonfire festival is coming up, but there’s been a recent attack by some rogues. “You always have something to tell your dad,” Derek said and headed towards the door of my room. He is not allowed to stay in my room longer than necessary. He has been my personal guard since I was 5. I have two personal guards, Derek and Aaron. I needed to figure out a way to meet Dad. “Urgh!” I threw myself on the bed while Derek stepped out and closed the door. Maybe I should just assist with the Bonfire preparations.

“I asked Aran to monitor Laura and Aran sent a signal saying that that side had moved Laura to two places, after that they didn't change anymore, no one came, and it seemed like they had abandoned Laura?” They gave up so quickly, how could this happen? “If you have found her location, there is no one next to her…” Derek stopped, he looked at his watch, it was forty minutes before Bertha got off work. “Let's go take a look.” The two of them quickly went out. While riding in the car to the suburbs, Derek was so tired that he took a nap but unexpectedly fell asleep. He didn't sleep well and even had a strange dream. In the dream, he was in a small, empty, and simple room.

I replied. “What does Derek want?” Elijah asked. I remained silent and stared at my feet before the people in charge. “Derek wants to be immortal.” “Like a vampire?” Brandon asked and I shook my head. “Like Lea. Cursed.” I replied before I turned my back and started walking. “We have to start going.” “To where?” Elijah and Brandon asked as I paused and gave them an unbelievable look. “Derek’s private house, I hear he is in Hawaii so book a ticket by next week, morning flight so we can catch him.” I informed them and paused. “Oh and Elijah, when this is over we need to have a talk okay.”

I press her to continue. “Well, Derek back then was always the quiet one among us. Smart as hell, but quiet, and that singled him out most of the times. One day, some of the older kids thought it would be funny to mess with him. They pulled some dirty prank where they locked him in the basement of one of the old storage sheds near our pack academy building and abandoned him there. Overnight. In the middle of winter season.” I hiss. "What the hell?"

"Yeah perhaps we might have met somewhere I came to Kentucky couple of weeks ago"

"I got a three week leave before I get deployed",I look at him and sigh. He looks different being out of uniform. I sigh. "Do you have where your going?",he sighs. "No, he looks at me, I'm in the special unit Derek we don't know till we get there. I won't be able to call or write much",he looks over as we sit staring at the walls. Pictures of babies line it.

Derek POV Vermont was a prison disguised as a family visit. My grandparents were kind. They had always been kind. But they were following my father's orders, and those orders were clear. Derek needed discipline. Derek needed to learn responsibility. Derek needed to understand the value of hard work. So instead of sitting in a classroom or on the ice, I spent my days doing menial labor. Shoveling snow from the long driveway. Chopping firewood for the old stone fireplace. Cleaning out the barn that had not been used in years. Scrubbing floors. Washing windows. Painting fences in freezing temperatures.

Kurt said, coming up and grabbing Derek's shoulder. "It's real." was all Derek managed to say back to Kurt. "Alpha, we need to leave." Kurt repeatedly tried to get his attention; he didn't understand what was going on with Derek. "Legend's real. That freaking dumb story they told us as kids. Its fucking real and she's going to be mined. I need scouts after her now." Derek said, grabbing Kurt by the throat. “Alpha the camp.” Kurt said as her voice broke. “Fuck the camp. Send men after her” Dereck growled, dropping him to his knees.
