But he grabbed my arm. “Aren’t you even a little curious about the memories you’ve lost?” I glanced quickly at the two women beside me and lowered my voice. “Don’t say another word.” Loki smiled. Though young, his features had always been sharp and striking; when he smiled, his eyes looked like two dark pools from afar—beautiful in a dangerous way. Mimicking me, he lowered his voice deliberately, leaning close to my ear as he spoke words that pushed the limits again and again:

It seemed he would rather not get involved in any spat.

" My red eyes were fixed on him, demanding an answer. “Who are you?” He held up a badge. It was not a police badge. “Detective Elijah Monroe. I lead a quiet team sponsored by... let’s call it a very high confidential official who believes werewolves are a rising threat to the human race.” He stepped closer, lowering his voice. “You’re not crazy. You were attacked by them, weren’t you?” I didn’t answer. My jaw clenched, as I looked back at Marcus. “You're not the first victim. But you and him might be the first survivors who can help us take them down.”

Loki said and immediately end the call. Loki is like a child. Little and random things interest him even at an early age. He would get dirty or walk a thousand miles if that is the only way to be with his "educational tool". He got it from his adventurer father. He only sees things and people as some kind of tools to learn more. He likes observing people in their everyday lives, it does not only satisfies his thirst for knowledge and some other things, but it also fulfill his role as a shadow for someone he needs to protect. Luckily, he never knocked someone out ever. Well, that's a good news.

It was a garage that I'd visited only once but apparently, Kieran was also familiar with it and the person we were meeting inside. "Ah, there she is!" Yet, I hated that I was aiding him in one of his biggest lies to her, and gosh, it keeps getting fucking difficult to handle every damn day. "So it's your testimony that she is an Ultima?" Rolex uttered, his face in a tight frown as he glared at Blake "Not just my testimony. My daughter is going to prove it to you all." Loki declared, smirking boldly. "Just how powerful she is." Immediately, Blake's grip on my hand got tighter, and when I looked her way, a hint of fear glowed in her eyes as she rested her gaze on mine. It didn't take long for me to recognize that something was off about Blake. She looked as though she was panicking, and I grew concerned because I could hear the change in her
