Sacrificed Warrior
I whirl on my seat and see Ryan in the driver's seat in the car right behind us.
I take my seatbelt as I thank Devin for the ride. I open the door, but Devin grabs my arm. I watch as he strains to control himself, his body shaking ferociously. He's too close to changing, and his system already preparing to accommodate his other form.
"Don't take the vow. Hold it off as long as you can," Devin starts. "And if you're injured, call me, even if they tell you not to. I'll get you help," he finishes, resigned to his helplessness.
