Does Percy Jackson's Mom Die Novels & Stories

Make sure to become a decent person in your next life. The police had not expected to witness another murder scene while arresting their suspect. They handcuffed Mom and prepared to take her away. She remained eerily calm the entire way, until the very second before she was to be put into the police car, she suddenly broke free and sprinted toward the main road. A car, unable to brake in time, slammed into her with a sickening thud. Mom was thrown heavily onto the ground, blood oozing from her mouth. I felt my spirit begin to fade as I started becoming transparent. I knew it was time for me to go.

"What? Did she run away because I brought Cathy back?" My breath caught in my throat, and when I finally spoke, it came out as a scream—raw, broken. "No! She's dead! She died because of you!" The room went still. Mike stood frozen. "What… what did you just say?" He had never seen me like this before, never seen me unravel so completely. For the first time, I saw something close to panic in his eyes. "Jess, don't lie to me. Your mom was fine. She was fine."

“I raise him to God of Courage, to be revered for all time.” Gave his life? He had died in a hunting accident. He and a few demigod friends had gone after wild boar in the forest, and a boar had run him off a cliff. There was nothing glorious in it. But Zeus needed a hero, even a false one. My mother knew none of this. She knew only that she was sealed in the dark, with no food, no water, save the hard crust of bread and the bowl of filthy water shoved now and then through the gap beneath the door.

After all, without the house, Penelope no longer had hope of marrying her boyfriend. Her words hurt our mother deeply, and she killed herself that very night. The last call she made before she died was to me, and her last message was, "I'm sorry." I did not pick up. I had blocked her number, so her message never got to me. It was spring again when I heard of her death. Fishermen had found her body in the river a year after she jumped. I was shocked when the police told me I was the only living family she had.

Silence descended upon the room, leaving only the sounds of William's sobbing. A long time passed before Gloria asked, "Who beat you?" "Henry," William answered. "When?" she asked. "Half an hour ago." William couldn't shake the feeling that Gloria was acting strangely that day. "Do you know where the other Moms are? Can you come back home soon? I'm so scared." Gloria massaged her brow as she listened to his teary voice. "Henry's dead, William."

"But he shouldn't have had to." Mom closed her eyes, and for several long seconds, nobody spoke and then she slowly exhaled. Carefully, as if she was trying to carry a weight she'd been holding for years. "You sound like your uncle." My head jerked upward. "What?" "Eros's father." The room grew even quieter. Mom's gaze drifted somewhere far away. "He used to say the same thing." Something inside my chest twisted. "What happened to him?" Pain flickered across Mom's face. It was real and raw pain. The kind that never fully leaves.b"He died protecting the realm."

She lunged at me as she hopped around, trying to extinguish the fire in her hair. She snapped, "I'll beat you to death, you worthless brat! How dare you try to burn your own parents and brother! Have your goddamn eyes failed you? Do you not see that we're still alive?" I quickly took off running toward the courtyard gate and hid behind the onlookers, whimpering as I cowered out of sight. "Is that really you, Mom? You're actually not dead? "Mom, Dad, and Draco are still alive, Lucy! I actually thought they didn't want me anymore, and that I was going to be left a miserable orphan with no one to care for me."

I say to mom. "You can not go there Charlotte, don't even think about it," Mom objects again. "Mom, it's my magic we're talking about, we can't just do nothing, stay here and keep on trying until one of the spells ends up killing me," I yell at my mother. "I can't let you go Charlotte, last time someone I loved went to the fey land, the next thing I knew was he died," Mom says. "Mom, I'm not gonna die," I say with a shake of my head.

She laughed along with me, but she watched Percy the entire time. “You’re Alpha Jason’s son, right?” “Sure am.” “I know your mom, and Zae.” “You do?” I asked, furrowing my brow at her in surprise. “Yeah, my mom was friends with Zae and Percy. Not that one,” she pointed to our current Percy. “The one that died.” “Who’s your mom?” I knew that Zae and Percy had ties here, so it isn’t surprising that she would know them, but I wasn’t expecting her to know my mother as well.

Right through her heart. "You already killed me once," my mother says. Smiling. Blood on her teeth. "Did you really think I'd let you kill my granddaughter too?" Then she grabs Lilith. Holds her tight. And her body explodes with the last of her divine power. Taking Lilith with her. Both of them gone. Completely. Finally. The room goes silent. Smoke clearing. Revealing nothing. No bodies. No trace. Just empty space where they stood. "Mom," I sob. "Mom, no."
