GREAT SOBRIETY Disturbing dreams filled Túlio's sleep all night long. As he hadn't been sleeping well for days, even though he was drunk and feeling very sick and tired, he slept at least two hours that time. It felt so real to have loved Cloe again. To feel her skin in his hands, feel her kisses, her response. Before opening his eyes to a monstrous headache, as he already felt it lurking, behind his eyes were only pain and dryness. I take a deep breath as my heartbeat starts to slow down, and Theo pats me on my shoulder as he grabs a bottle of whiskey from the bar in my room. He pours us all glasses of the liquid, and I down it without thinking. He poured another one and he keeps doing it until I had five. He then cuts me off, “We don’t need you drunk out of your fucking ass” he barks at me, and I put the glass down on the table. I take a deep breath, passing my hands through my hair, and I watch as Theo struggles with his thoughts.

"Are you sure? You still have a concert tomorrow." Tanya shrugged nonchalantly. "It starts at 7pm, so it doesn't hurt getting drunk now. It even affords me a good night's sleep, and I haven't been sleeping well for days now." In her mind, she intended to get drunk and stay on the couch, and then join in whatever Charlie and Penny were planning. For his part, Charlie didn't hesitate and poured Tanya a glass since she asked. CHAPTER 73 Morning arrived sooner than Tiana would have liked. Sunlight sliced through the half-drawn curtains, sharp and unforgiving, stabbing directly into Tiana’s temples. Her head pounded in slow, relentless waves, each throb a reminder of last night’s excesses. Her tongue felt thick and coated, tasting faintly of citrus vodka, lime, and the bitter aftertaste of every drink she consumed. Somewhere deep in her skull, a miniature construction crew hammered away without mercy.

The thumping sound of music filled Lorenzo's ears from the moment he decided to enter the club and drink as much as he can to forget his sadness about Selena. Already ten times Lorenzo had asked the bartender to give him a brandy so he would get drunk and no longer imagine Selena waiting anxiously for him at home. Drunk me, is not a good thing and I remember in my hazy stupor why this is not something I ever do to myself. I am an emotional mess, sobbing into my own lap on the floor and cradling my umpteenth cocktail of hard liquor while pulling my mental state into disarray.

I drank half a bottle of whiskey as the raw pain in my throat and my ears returned. Wednesday. I woke up at 9 a.m. and I felt like a different person. My arm was tender but I could move it. I probably should avoid shooting with it. I got dressed and headed outside again. I ate breakfast at the same diner where I had taken Bo. I had some time on my hands so I sent the last two names to Jennifer. It was time to eliminate them all.
