Novel & Cerita Duel Runners

I could also see some members of the leaders’ families in front of our house, probably protecting Andrea from a possible attack. Everyone was frightened, but the duel still continued and was held in the stadium. It was announced by the leaders that the duel should continue to test one’s ability to fight in case something like yesterday happened again. The winners representing each family—dagger, archery, and swordsmen—would be given a chance to serve the leaders’ family. The objective of the Homer’s Pack game had changed, making the participants more dedicated to winning every duel they fought.

I've spent three months making sure that never happens to me. I slip out through the back path Mara described, and for a while my feet move like they've been waiting all day for permission. The trees close in fast, cutting off the last of the torchlight behind me. My legs remember this rhythm better than anything else, the cold air, the uneven ground, I ran like this the night I met Kael. I don't let myself think about him. Thinking about him is how I get caught. Then something in my chest pulls tight, sudden and sharp, like a hand closing around a rope I didn't know I was holding.

"Today, you bear witness to a Sacred Duel, invoked under the oldest laws of our people. Lady Elise Rashford has challenged Lady Elena Rashford for the right to represent our kingdom as its Avatar." The crowd roared, but Theron's raised hand quickly restored silence. "The Sacred Duel is fought under an ancient covenant. The combatants will face each other with all their skills, all their strength, all their power. The duel continues until one yields, one can no longer fight, or..." He paused significantly. "One dies. There is no interference, no mercy, no retreat. Only victory or defeat." King Dominic leaned forward slightly in his seat, his expression unreadable. The dangerous looking man re

Scars of his own marked his back. The crowd was getting restless. Hundreds of pack members from multiple territories, here to watch two men destroy each other. Some cheered when they saw me. Others called Julian’s name. “Ladies and gentlemen,” Elder Francis’s voice boomed across the arena. “A formal duel between Alpha Dominic of Darkwood Pack and Coordinator Julian of Iron Mountain Pack. The challenge has been issued and accepted. Duel continues until one yields or cannot continue.” I stepped into the fighting circle, bare feet gripping the packed earth. Julian entered from the opposite side, moving with grace that made me reassess everything I thought I knew about him.

Asmal whispered to himself. Finally, Prince Zumir and Prince Dulhen faced off. Eighteen-year-old Dulhen smirked, well-trained from a young age by his family of hunters. He had always defeated even those larger than him. Yet he and the fifteen-year-old Prince Zumir were of equal height, and both were strikingly handsome. “The winner between you two will face Twari. Begin the second duel!” shouted Romelda.

he asks as he nods to the four off behind me at the car. "No." "Good." "So what is the duel?" I ask. "Besides stealing something?" "I will pick something, and you will pick something for the other to steal. Whoever manages to get the picked artifact first without tripping any alarms and bring it back here wins." "To Heather?" I ask as I glance at her. "Yeah, you got a problem with that?" she asks sharply. "Only with you." She looks confused for a second before she realized the insult. "How do I pick?" I ask as I look back to Cyprus.

Shayla muttered to herself and heaved a sigh of anger; the fact that she couldn’t do anything about her present situation anymore is what worried her. ******* Two days later… Jace was driving along the road with Caleb by his side. Both of them were talking about the recent update. The announcement has already been sent around and across the pack. They invited people to come watch the biggest duel of the pack, although they were still yet to see who the opponent is. People were already betting their life savings on who will win the duel. Most of them were betting on Jace to win until they heard certain news that the person he will be dueling with is a beast in human form. Most people started

I retorted. The rules state that the opening duel is to entertain the audience and also motivate them and the duel has to end with one of us giving up or in the worst case, death. From the way my opponent snarled in response to my words, I sensed she wouldn’t hesitate to snap my neck just to prove her point. Way to poke the bear, Aurelia… “Time to focus on surviving, Relia.” Inara cautioned me, pumping her strength into my veins. I felt my senses becoming sharper and my breathing became steady just as the bell rang, announcing the commencement of the duel.

I stepped forward, my pulse quickening as I prepared for the duel. Caden, tall and imposing, regarded me with a mixture of contempt and amusement. He drew his sword, its blade gleaming in the morning light. I unsheathed my own weapon, feeling its familiar weight in my hand. The steel felt cold, but it was a comfort against the heat of the moment. The duel began, and Caden wasted no time in launching a fierce attack. His strikes were powerful and precise, each blow aimed to overwhelm and incapacitate. I blocked and parried with all my strength, every muscle in my body straining to keep up with his relentless assault.

Blue shields burst around me, blocking his strikes, each hit vibrating through the grid like thunder. But he was fast…too fast. His code broke through the barriers, slamming me back into the fractured ground. Pain shot through my chest even though I wasn’t physically there. My system link was translating the data damage into neural feedback. “Stop resisting,” he hissed. “You can’t win.” I wiped the digital blood from my lip, standing slowly. “Maybe not in your world. But this system runs on logic.” He frowned. “What?” “A duel,” I said. “One-on-one. Code versus code. Logic duel. Winner gets control of the host interface.”
