Kirsten and the rest hesitated, yet no one wants to be left out here with the metal face so they follow with their eyes closed. Van and the rest then emerge into a vast chamber or a void perhaps for there is no floors, walls or ceilings here. There are only doors here, lots and lots of doors floating around like hooded ghosts. Van approaches the nearest one. The door must be more than eight feet tall for it towers above Van’s head. Carved around the decorated knocker is an inscription:

"I'm sorry, Ma'am. It's orders from the new boss." "What new boss?!" I bellowed and tried to get back in, but I was pushed out gently. The guard blocked the glass door. My temper flew high. “This is my father's company and I want to get inside, right now!” At that moment, a sleek black car parked at the curb. A well-dressed man in a sharp black suit got out and headed to the door. The wavy curls rested on his head perfectly. His left hand pushed into his pocket.

Georgia realized it was a facade with a different door made of thick metal behind it. This door’s dark color and strongroom-style design clashed horribly with the rest of the home’s beautiful look. The facade door didn’t and kept it hidden when closed. Hayden again scanned his print to unlock the second door and it swung open with a loud, metallic ‘clang’. Both doors closed behind them and Georgia heard loud clicks as they locked again.

“It is her.” The officer smiled. “Welcome. Your home has been prepared and I was told to tell you that if you need anything to let me know, Miss Dupree. If not me then whoever is here on duty. One will always be posted at the gates. You just push the button inside the door of your home to reach us. It is labeled clearly. It will let us know you need help.” His gaze turned to Midnight. “It is the rose-colored one by the dark blue. It’s the highest on top of the hill.” He pointed.

The massive steel doors were an anomaly, an industrial scar cut directly into the ancient, volcanic heart of Mount Meru. They stood twenty feet high, built flush against the jagged basalt, coated in a thick layer of yellow sulfur and centuries of subterranean grime. Above the seam where the two doors met, the faded, painted logo of 'Six'—a circle bisected by intersecting lines—stared down at them like a blind, mechanical eye.

He paused for a moment, looking thoughtful, before continuing. “Some doors are crafted differently. When a door is opened, even with an exact duplicate key ... .if it wasn't made by the original key maker, the owner can easily detect it. If the door you want to open is built like that, then I will have to bypass and open it in a specific, hidden way. But if it's just your own door, then it's fine.” He paused, moving his hands as if to unpack the bags. “You can pack everything up,” I said, stopping his hand. “It's my door, but I want you to open it the exact way you just described.”
