***ZANE'S POV*** We spent the entire day hiding in our room, and sometime before the evening, I checked up on Dante and he was doing fine. Spending some quality time with him, I brought him to come to say hi to his Mama. "Mummy," he calls out wrapping his little hands into her tangled blonde locks of hair. "My baby," London cries out, hugging Dante tightly. They are okay together for a while before I pluck him off London's hands.

Someone even pulled out their phone under the pretense of checking the time, but their camera lens lingered a little too long on Ajax’s profile. A group of children by the gate, still waiting for their turn to be led in, took notice too. “Whoa…” one little girl gasped, tugging on her friend’s sleeve. “Is that your dad, Dylan?” Dylan, dressed in his tiny blue backpack and puffy jacket, blinked up at the girl. “That’s my mom and dad,” he said simply, his voice full of quiet pride. “They look like movie stars,” the girl whispered, eyes wide. Another boy beside her nodded vigorously.

Just wistful. A ripple of surprise passed through us when Dylan walked in—with a woman. Emma gasped. “Oh my God. He brought a date.” The woman beside him was smiling, relaxed, clearly comfortable at his side, and when Dylan introduced her, she laughed and said, “So I finally met Waffles. That iguana is… totally cool and fun. I think I’m getting one of my own now.” Dylan groaned. “I told you he’d traumatize you.”

“A man named Ethan Stark came to my house. He called me Ava and said I abandoned these kids— my kids, rather, as he kept insisting. He gave me this and told me… told me I was their mother.” Lily’s eyes darted between the photo and my face, her mouth opening and closing like she was searching for words. “Shocking right? That was exactly my reaction when he told me,” I said and she kept looking at me, frozen. “Lily?” I pressed. “Do you know something I don't?” She hesitated. A silence stretched between us, thick and dangerous. “Lily,” I repeated, stepping closer. “You are scaring me. Just tell me.”

"Are you drunk?" Nonetheless, Dylan was suddenly kneeling before me with a gaze of wistfulness and regret. "Actually, I was reborn… You helped me when I was drugged in our last life, and we had twins after we got married… Just come with me. I will marry you once my dad dies. I know you have loved me ever since you started working for my family." I paused, before putting down my spoon while my eyes flashed with contempt, "Well, do you know why it was Lily this time?"

He wonders how they’re spending their time together and it makes him anxious. He gets off his bed and walks downstairs. His mum and little sister Lina were visiting and as much as he loved his family, he’d rather not have them on the day he was feeling sad about a girl who was with his….. “Look who decided to come downstairs… breakfast? I know you don’t want it but try it, and it’s not chocolate chip pancakes, I have other things I can cook.” Dylan smiled at his mum, walking up to her and clinging onto her like a koala. Maybe he’d have escaped not being called a koala for being clingy until he started whining low in his throat.
