Marcus was unpredictable, and Henry couldn't risk the safety of his loved ones any further. In the early hours of the morning, Henry made a decision. He quietly got out of bed, careful not to wake Nina, and headed to the living room. There, he sat down and began making calls. He contacted a few close friends and family members, explaining the dire situation and asking for their help. Within an hour, he had arranged for temporary accommodation in a remote area where they would be safe. Henry returned to the bedroom and gently shook Nina awake. Troy began getting silverware and dishes out and I started to help him set the table. “Really,” he laughed, looking at my place settings. “Really what,” I asked, confused. He eyed the table and raised his eyebrow. Hmm! I was proud of my silverware arrangements! “We’re not just not that fancy, perfect place settings. They’re not going to know what to do with more than one fork,” he snickered. “What’s wrong with doing things properly,” I huffed, teasing him. “We ain’t proper folks,” Henry said, coming into the dining room and sitting.

Maybe he was going to meet with this blackmailer, and they didn’t want me to know about it. A tight knot formed in my stomach; I was getting a nasty feeling about this. “Erin? Are you still there?” Henry asked; I hadn’t realized I had gone silent until he spoke my name. “Sorry, what were you saying?” I asked, shaking my head of any thoughts. “If anyone can get access to his phone, it’s you,” Henry repeated. “Just be careful. I’m still thinking he’s dangerous. If his family really is in danger, there’s no telling what he would do, and who he would step on, to protect them.”

It threw him back with tremendous force. Dustin’s face remained impassive. This was the inherent risk in this game. The two liquids were special in that if they expanded or contracted too quickly, an explosion would occur. Henry had intended to catch Dustin off guard, but instead, he paid the price. The force of the explosion was not fatal but not entirely harmless either. It could wound, or in a worse case, cripple someone. Henry’s men rushed forward in panic to help him up. Henry’s body was scorched, his hair was disheveled, and his clothes were in tatters.

His head turned to the side, telling Jeth and the others, "Do not eat them. Bring them to the headquarters. I have a sneaking suspicion that this woman could be the one we've been looking for." Henry hoped she was the one. After all, he had immature fears as well that lurked in his mind. However, of course, he felt empty; where was his safe harbor, away from the hurricanes and the surges of war that followed? Where was the fuel needed to fill up? This land will be the breeding ground for demons and evil anyway. He knows it. His humanity was gone, along with his family.
