“Is something bothering you?” She looked back at her plate and then up at Caleb. “I’m worried about this Ragnar. Henry showed me the picture of him and said that if the man came around my place asking about Diana, he wanted me to know what he looked like. He feared the man might get violent, considering how he left Diana naked at the zoo in sub freezing temperatures. Yennifer hesitated, her heart pounding in her chest. "But why? Why did you go to such lengths?" Henry's gaze softened, and he gestured for Yennifer to take a seat beside him. "There are secrets and dangers that surround you, Yennifer. Ones that you may not yet fully comprehend. My intentions were never to control or manipulate you, but rather to shield you from the forces that threaten your well-being." Yennifer listened, her skepticism gradually giving way to a glimmer of understanding. "What secrets? What dangers?"

Deep with her stomach, she hoped they’d crumble. Glancing around the carriage, bare aside from a few train benches that had been toppled over, she sighed, sinking down onto the cool, dirt floor.
