"What are you doing out here? Shouldn't you be inside, Rain?" He said with a smirk. He walks closer to me and I remained on my spot. "Well, I went out to have some fresh air, Damien Harrison aka Agent 24," I said and let out a chuckle. That made his eyes widened in shock, what did he expect? I can't just let him follow me every where I go. "So you know me," He said as his face remains blank.

I ate to my fill and lay down supine, meditating on the unfolding storyline. Brenda, the main character, who had taken most of the first chapter to express her distaste for long distance relationships, and who was also seeking for admission as an exchange student to Canada alongside her boyfriend of two years, ended up getting admitted into the exchange programme but unfortunately, her boyfriend Kevin wasn't. Was it going to be the end of their beautiful relationship? Or will Brenda try to overlook the situation and hope it miraculously works out regardless? It does seem like the beginning of their end.

It was her. Raina crumbled in the middle of the road, swaying slightly, her face barely visible under the streetlight. Her forehead was smeared with blood, her eyes half-closed, as if she were barely conscious. For a second, I couldn’t move, couldn’t process what was happening. Then Alex was out of the car, rushing toward her, lifting her into his arms with a gentleness I hadn’t expected.

Then — "I have a daughter. Her name is Rain. She's four years old and she has her father's eyes and my stubbornness and a wolf inside her that is going to be extraordinary someday. I need her to be safe. I need her to grow up." Rain's throat closed completely. "If I can't stop this — please make sure she gets to. Please make sure she gets to be everything she was born to be. Please don't let him keep her small." The recording ended. Silence. Rain stood in Harlan Grey's empty room with her mother's voice still in the air and her hands not entirely steady for the first time since she had walked into this building. Cole made a sound behind her. Brief and quiet and quickly controlled.

" She stutter. " Please rise so that we will see that beautiful face of yours." Everyone in the room laughed shortly. " I believed that she is our recruit from Timberville. The coordinator added So Raine rose from her seat a little concious with the stares she is getting, while praying she won't be recognized. "I am Raine Stevens, an engineer... Uhm I am assigned to take over the work in the third district, and yes I came from Timberville." She said aware that the stare that Mateo's father is out of the ordinary.

"I don't know what to say, Lyra. I am very thankful for this, really." Lyra saw Derrick watching them from behind Raine; she raised her brows, trying to ask him if everything was fine with her dear friend. When Derrick smiled to give her a huge thumbs up, she could finally breathe well again. "I still can't believe it," Raine said. "I went here for a completely different reason," she added. "I almost wanted to do something so grim." "You don't have to tell me anything, Raine. Just let me help you out, and everything will be alright. I'll just ask Derrick to help us out; he will for sure understand."

Raine and Red stood up from their comfortable positions, as they faced Xenia and Jiro, who are both out of breath. "Found what?" Raine asks curiously, before giving Xenia a cup of water. "Your parents!" Xenia exclaimed after gulping down the water. Raine's eyes widened in surprise, as her heart starts hammering with excitement. "Really? Where? I want to see them!" she spoke as she turns around fast to face Red. But Red was only inches away from her... thus both their forehead hits one another. "Ouch!" they both exclaimed while caressing their foreheads.

Alpha Elmore spat before storming out. Raine stood there, stunned. Slowly, she raised a hand to her cheek as tears gathered in her eyes and fell to the floor. She blinked rapidly, trying to hold them back. She would not appear weak. Not anymore. Without another word, she turned and walked to her room. The next morning, she dressed to leave with Alice, only to be stopped at the entrance by the gamma guards. “Sister, do not think you can take what I desire from me. Do not even dream of it,” Alice sneered before stepping into the carriage.
