Alexander’s Perspective Eddy showed up past midnight, the crunch of gravel under his boots giving him away before he even knocked. Unlocking the door, I stepped inside, the familiar scent of Chloe's crayons and apple juice a strange comfort. "And where have you been?" I turned around to where the disgruntled voice had come from. It felt like stepping into another world. I began to scan the shelves for anything that looked like it might hold valuable information. I reached a section labeled “Historical Records” when I heard footsteps behind me. Before I could turn, a familiar voice drawled, “Hello, my love.” Damnit. Fear tightened on the edge of the shelf. Slowly, I turned to see Eddie leaning casually against the doorway with a smirk playing on his lips.
