He raised his hand and said, "Knife." Someone immediately handed him a knife. Su Mingdong pulled out the scabbard. A silvery-white cold light flashed in the moonlight. Then, a painful scream was heard. A few drops of blood splashed on his clothes and his face. He listened to the scream of the woman behind him and a bloodthirsty smile appeared on his face again.

The graffiti painted behind them flashed with the colorful lights, but nothing was more mesmerizing than the two bloodied men staring up at me as if their world revolved around my smile. I shook my head. What the hell was that poetic bullshit? It had to be that damn drink. My face must’ve not gotten the memo, because I felt my lips begin to curl upwards. I smoothed my expression as best I could as I looked them dead in the eye and sighed, “You’re both idiots.” I turned away and followed Edward down the hall. Even as we drifted further, I swore I could hear them whispering to one another. “That was a smile, wasn’t it? She smiled at us, Jude.”

“But I really am and I want to tell you that-” His smile stopped me dead in my tracks. It was such a slow, easy smile that somehow completely transformed him. His eyes sparkled warmly and his features softened into something comforting but still powerful. The long jagged scar that marked the side of his face almost vanished against the brilliance of his smile.

I said and he smiled back. As he pulled his hands away, I noticed a scar on the thumb of his right hand. It was almost too small to see but I saw it anyway and there was a sudden urge to trace it.

I slowly let my fingers brush over his hand and the wound healed on its own. There was a mere flicker of surprise in his eyes but then there was the tug at the corner of his lips, the pure depravity that lay in that smile got unnoticed by me and I flashed him an own smile of mine that had no other intention than the happiness helping someone brought within me. "You are fine now," I smiled at him attempting to drop his hand but he grabbed mine before I could pull away, there was a slight harshness in his movement but my attention got divided as he crouched down in front of me.

His hands—God, his hands were dripping. But what made my stomach twist wasn’t the blood. Wasn’t the violence. It was the smile. That damn soft, almost innocent smile that tugged at the corners of his mouth like he hadn’t just stepped out of a horror scene. Like he hadn’t just painted the living room red. “Sorry about that,” he said, his voice barely above a murmur, calm like they were just chatting over coffee. “I really didn’t want you to see this.”

Then he dragged the blade across his wrist. I screamed. The phone nearly slipped from my hands. Blood spilled instantly against his skin while he gasped sharply from the pain, but somehow… Somehow he still smiled. Not because he was happy. Because he looked relieved. That smile will haunt me until the day I die. Isaac stood unsteadily afterward, leaving bloody fingerprints against the desk while the camera continued recording everything. “See you next time,” he whispered weakly. Then he walked toward the bathroom. The video kept going.

Roland said still looking at Sicily's face, then his lips curled into a smile. "Don't think she will just accept you when she regains consciousness." Roland was still expanding his lips making Edward feel disgusted, "stop that smile, Ro, and get out!" Roland quickly excused himself, continuing his work to take care of Edward's business in the outside world. Meanwhile in the room, Edward was still quietly leaning against the wall of the bed. His gaze was still fixed on Sicily's face. He still couldn't believe that his partner was a rare and beautiful blind person.
