Cassius looks immensely pleased with himself. We set Edwin down at a table and he gets a mug of coffee, a piece of bread and cheese. Rogues sit down with him. Partially to keep an eye on him partially out of curiosity. They mean no harm but they enjoy antagonising him with their daunting presence a bit too much. “Who is that?” Maverick asks as he sits down with me and Cassius out of the sight line of Edwin. “Edwin, Cooper's best friend. He’s studying to become a doctor. He positively hates fighting. Dad sent him here with a note.”

But that didn’t mean the others in the room was stupid. Jarvis knitted his brows. Looks like his son-in-law was in trouble.
