His voice was commanding, firm, like an unbreakable law, turning his back on me. Glancing over at my coworkers, who gave me a sympathetic look, I heaved a sigh and focused my gaze back on the computer screen. Mr. Mávros is a good person; that’s why I worked for him even after experiencing first hand his arrogance with his employees. He is the reason I barely made it out of college, not that he knows about it. The moment I graduated with a degree in Business Economics, I applied for his company, The Mávros Enterprises.

"Stephanie, I know you don't want to see me, and that's okay. I just wanted to say hi. I'm the new research fellow, and I live next door. Guess we'll see each other around." He smiled faintly, then turned and walked away. Later, I learned from my mentor that after Edwin couldn't reach me, he actually spent three years getting certified in biological research. He proved himself with hard work and passed all the required screenings. That was how he got into the program. It would be a lie to say I wasn't moved. But... I didn't know how to forgive everything he had done. So I left that decision to time. As the days went by, my son and Edwin grew closer and closer.

I thought it was for the best, I mean my life was already messed up but last night I suddenly wanted to live and intended to train hard today. Why do I suddenly feel so sad and disappointed when Jeremy had showed up instead of Arthur...

"Don't worry because I'm making sure my son won't be interested in that woman." Jackie faced Edwin with a smile upon hearing what he ordered his subordinate. "That new subordinate of mine is reliable. The job suits him because he is young and has good looks." Edwin smirked at the foreseeable outcome of his plans. Even Jackie was grinning. She had seen the person Edwin was referring to. "You're really smart!" Edwin burst out laughing with joy as he hugged Jackie. Their voices echoed in the four corners of the room filled with joy and triumph. Edwin was content with hugging, kissing and making Jackie happy with his lips and hands. Darius left the words as a statement, seeing if Edwin would fill in the blanks. “You placed an ad. I just happen to have a solution. I’m looking for investors, so it seemed a mutually beneficial deal. I’m a very private man, though, and the terms of our agreement are to stay between us… I hope,” Edwin replied, showing a bit of the backbone that had made him billions of dollars. “I’m a private man myself, Edwin.”

Unfortunately, Edwin realized it too late. Jovan seemed to be ready, wearing Edwin's sweater. This morning he would return to the city. It was impossible for him to stay while Edwin's family and company needed his dedication. At least Jovan was Edwin's right-hand man, so he knew a lot about everything related to the company. That's why he was temporarily replacing Edwin's position.

The warm breath sent hot chills down my body. "Ja...Jarvis." my lips trembled. Hot tears burn my eyes. The touch, the feelings. I slowly turned around, with his hands still around me. When I did, he pressed his forward against mine. "I'm sorry." He whispered in the space between us. 'I bet you're.' Edna, my wolf grumbled in my head. She has never liked Jarvis, the reason for her silence all along. I ignored her and focused on what was in front of me.

I have never found anyone else annoying enough asides Caleb Harris and Dylan Cooper, even the old geezer Gregory, I ended up liking him fairly. I nudged my brother’s shoulder, and we got into the elevator. I tried making jokes, but Jarvis’s mood never improved. I was pissed he was brooding over a girl like Elsa, someone who had nothing to offer him other than her body. We alighted from the elevator, and Jarvis headed down to his office. I excused myself and made for my usual, deserted restroom. After waiting aimlessly for some seconds, and the brunette hadn’t shown up, I brought out a cigarette, and lightened it up. It hadn’t been up to ten seconds when I heard that annoying voice again.

Jace's POV: "What's up, Edwin? Long time no see. You have changed," I told my buddy as I hugged him warmly. "You have changed too. Looking more fierce and handsome," Edwin teased me, and I smiled. "I am not fierce," I said to Edwin as I smiled at his words. Edwin was still a cheerful person and also bubbly. It was a pity that he couldn't get the woman that he wanted. Mandy, she was married now and a mother of twins.

Steven I found it disheartening that Edwina dismissed my cautionary advice about associating with Justice, a man she knew little about and who posed potential harm to her family. While I appreciated her occasional stubbornness, I wished she would heed my warning and keep her distance from Justice. Perhaps my concern was fueled by the notion that Justice was the type of guy who effortlessly captured hearts, evident in Edwina's older sisters being infatuated with him. This led me to fear that Edwina might also develop feelings for him.
