he says. I raise an eyebrow, crossing my arms. “What? I’m his. Call him if you don’t believe me,” I challenge, praying Kael plays along. The guard shakes his head, unconvinced, but makes the call. “Hello, sir. There’s a lady here claiming to be your girlfriend. Shall I let her…What’s your name, miss?” “Elara Dela Vega.” “Elara Dela Vega, sir,” he says. “Yes, sir.” He hangs up.

LYRA The knock echoes through the too-perfect house, and my stomach sinks. I raise a brow at Talia. “If that’s Zane, you better pretend I'm not here and release a rogue mouse in his kitchen.” But it’s not. It’s a beautiful woman with huge dimples, a riot of short, shiny black curls, and more sunshine energy than any werewolf has a right to possess. “Hi!!” she beams. “You must be Lyra! I’m Elara. Zane’s sister.”

But at the moment, I’d much rather be involved with bringing down a werewolf-run drug running operation instead of a vampire-inflicted human homicide bordering pack lands. “Detective Fergeson, it’s nice to meet you. I’m sorry it has to be under these conditions.” I say, turning to shake his hand. “I’m Alpha Scarlett, the Alpha of the Crimson Snow Pack and these,” I point to Bree and Dax, “these are my Gamma and Lead Warrior, Bree and Dax.” Motioning to the others, I tell him, “this is Blake, Serafina, Theo and Conan, four more of my warriors. And this is Tasha and Channing, two of my trackers. Channing is the one who found the deceased.” I hear someone clearing their throat near me. “Oh, for

They simply opened fire with their plasma-rifles. "COVER!" Kael roared, his obsidian-gauntlets expanding to form a biological shield. Elena didn't hide. she was a silver-and-black blur, her blades carving through the air as she deflected the plasma rounds. She moved with a speed that the Liquidators couldn't track, the "Ash-Born" grace that Leo had gifted them. "HARLAN! THE BEACON!" Elena screamed.

Leo reached for me with his hands, his own eyes flashing Scarlett rushed in from a corner. “They cannot hide much longer!” She yelled, her voice shaking. “Those pups are too strong. I hope rogues will not find them out any time soon Then… as if Scarlett’s words called the devil, I smelled danger before I saw the harbinger. Cassandra. She walked in without knocking, feeling proud as usual, her dress looking too fancy for the ‘dirty Omega quarters’ I was. Her sharp eyes were flipping around the room until they stopped on the cribs.

Sophia clutched her wounded shoulder, eyes gleaming with dark satisfaction. Damien’s grip on his gun tightened until his knuckles turned white. His other arm stayed locked around my waist, pulling me flush against his side in the smoke-filled room. Forced proximity had never felt more suffocating. Our three children’s pods hummed softly behind reinforced barriers, but the new threat — Victor’s sister, the true architect — made everything feel fragile. “Elara,” Damien snarled at the speakers. “Show yourself.” A video feed flickered to life on the main surviving monitor. Dr. Elara Kane was striking — sharp features, cold intelligent eyes, wearing a white lab coat stained with what looked like

The cemetery was slowly becoming empty as those who attended left one after the other. The kings and Caitlyn were the only ones remaining after some time. Caitlyn walked to them. "Thank you so much. Your presence means a lot to me, " She managed to force a smile. Her eyes were red and puffy as a result of crying so much. "It's nothing, dear," Madam Scarlett smiled at her. "We'll leave now," Herald told her as they got on their feet. "Thank you so much for attending, " Caitlyn thanked them again. Madam Scarlett stretched out her hands for a hug.

Celine walked in with a faint smile, dressed in a pale pink gown that clashed sharply with the room’s cold atmosphere. Liam didn’t turn around. “You came without permission.” “This is your office, not a prison,” Celine replied lightly. “I’m just surprised. It’s been two months, and you’re still obsessed with a woman who left without looking back.” “She didn’t leave,” Liam said coldly. “She’s just lost.” Celine raised an eyebrow. “Are you sure?” Liam turned to her, his gaze sharp. “Elara is used to being protected. She’s never made a major decision on her own. Sooner or later, she’ll run out of money, run out of courage—and then she’ll come back.”

A crimson glow bathed the corridor walls, pulsing like the heartbeat of something ancient and alive. The air inside the Icelandic base had shifted, heavier now, almost sentient. Julian raised his weapon, and Selene flicked her flashlight off, switching to thermal vision. But Alma couldn’t move. Her breath hitched as she stared at the girl standing just meters away. Elara. She looked exactly like Evelyn in her youth, but colder. Her features too symmetrical, her expression too calm.

Ava sat silently beside him, the air thick with tension and fear. But halfway down the mountain pass, something unexpected appeared a black SUV parked sideways across the road. Liam’s instincts flared. He hit the brakes, the jeep skidding on the wet gravel. A door opened, and a tall woman stepped out. Blond hair, dark coat, calm eyes. Ava whispered, “No…” It was Elara Victoria’s former lieutenant. The one who’d vanished months ago. Liam jumped out first, gun raised. “Move,” he barked.
