When it did, she dreamed of eyes, Ethan’s warm brown ones smiling at her across an airport terminal, and another pair, darker, watching from the shadows. In the dream she walked toward Ethan but kept glancing back, pulled by something she couldn’t name.

"So… this is how you saved me back then." My nose stung. Emotions tangled inside me. I poured healing power into him desperately, but the poison was vicious, already corroding his wolf soul. In the final moment before losing consciousness, he looked at me and murmured weakly, "Freya… this time… I protected you…" His hand fell limp as he fainted completely. The emergency chamber doors remained shut for three hours.

Eyes shut tight, hands out to my sides as if palms will stop the momentum of a bullet, I scream at the top of my lungs: "Stop!" And everything stills. **

No matter what he had done before, after today, he would definitely make it up to Iris properly.

I exhale in relief and my eyes close, but still, my heart goes out to him. "It's nine pm and the Sight is automatically programmed to shut down." He explained before pulling off the glasses on his face and carefully slotting them into their case and then back into his pocket before turning back to look at me, his grey eyes swimming in what happens to be unshed tears and my heart breaks a little on the inside for this man.

With the little sounds I could hear, there was a battle of bullet exchange not too far from us. I couldn’t stand for long on my two feet and Hunter noticed as he gripped me against his chest and began yelling. “ HELP! SHIT… HELP!!!” Slowly I was losing consciousness as I fought to stay awake. Before everything became black the last thing I heard was. “ Iris please don’t leave me” Or …. I’m not so sure. So I guess that’s how it ends?

Already, her visions had blurred and it was the moment Harper came to her side that her eyelids closed and a tear trickled down her left eye. She felt her world flash right through her eyes...or no, it didn’t flash, it just ended...or, did it? Was this...her end?
