That’s… really good.” I stare at her, unsure if I should speak. My throat feels raw, my lips dry. “I’m Hannah,” she says, as if sensing my hesitation. “Hannah Williams. I… I’m Eric’s younger sister.” I blink, taking in her features. There’s a striking resemblance, the same sharp green eyes, the same fiery red hair. My mind flashes—Eric. The Alpha who saved me. "I thought I was losing my sister." My chest tightened and I hugged him back. "You aren't." "Promise?" "I promise." He pulled back. "Even if you don't live here?" I rolled my eyes. "Yes, of course." Then another voice interrupted. "Mia?" Both of us turned, and Eric was walking out of the house. His expression immediately shifted when he saw me standing beside the car, and especially when he noticed my bag. "Mia." His brows furrowed. "Is everything alright?"

I felt my chest tighten. “Her name’s Tina,” he said, eyes lighting up. “She’s beautiful. I think she’s the one.” I forced a smile, though my heart was cracking. He’d said that same line before—about other girls who never lasted. But something about the way he said this one made my stomach twist. Then he added, almost casually, “She’s Eric’s sister.” I froze. Eric. The notorious playboy. The man who left a trail of broken hearts wherever he went.

I whispered, and pulled out the blade then rushed towards her. Screams filled the air, and horror darted across her eyes when I raised the blade in the air. I didn't give it a second thought before swinging the blade at her. Her flesh was slashed open, and blood splashed on my face as she went down. "Luna!” I felt my heart stop beating when I pulled my head together, and realized that the one on the floor wasn't Arlene, but Valerie, my brothers' mate.

Eric pushed the door open without knocking. "Patrick, lock the damn door! I don't want to see anyone!" her voice snapped. My eyes swept the room. A tall, six-foot male wolf stood near the bed, Patrick, her twin brother. I didn't care about him right now. My gaze locked onto the girl. She scrambled off the mattress and threw herself desperately into Eric's arms. Her delicate head was wrapped in layers of white gauze, but it didn't hide her beauty. Her amber eyes were breathtaking, more mesmerizing than any rare amber gemstone locked in my kingdom's vault.

“I killed your…brother.” “No, you didn’t.” Eric snatched the gun from me and fired a shot to Ethan’s forehead. And then another shot to his chest in the space of two seconds. “I killed him,” he said firmly and tossed the gun to the ground. “I’m the one who killed him. And he’s not my brother. He’s a monster who would've killed us both without a second thought and that’s why he had to die. You didn’t do it. I did.” Eric wrapped his arms around me, pulling me close as tears streamed down my face. “It's over, tigress,” he whispered, his voice gentle yet filled with sorrow. “We're safe now.”

“You think for a second that I’m scared of Enzo? He’s my brother, Eric. We grew up together, fought side by side. Just because he’s the Alpha now doesn’t mean I’m shaking in my boots. You truly don’t know me at all.” Eric pushed my hands off his collar and stepped closer, his face inches from mine. “Don’t bullshit me with lies,” he said, his voice low and instantly dangerous. “I see right through your act, Dean. You want the Alpha title for yourself. That’s the only reason why you’re here, working with a rogue like me. You think I’m too dumb to figure out your plan?”
