The night was too quiet, that kind of silence that presses against your ears and makes your heartbeat sound too loud. The town of Eldara had fallen into an unnatural hush. Shadows danced like hungry ghosts, whispering long-forgotten secrets that make your skin crawl. Above the small, forgotten town of Eldara, the night sky burned red. It hadn’t shone like this for over a century. The elders called it the “Blood Moon Requiem”, but to most, it was just another eerie sky. The majority of the young folks had stopped believing in legends.

The snow kept falling. The world kept turning. And for the first time since that kitchen island We weren’t running. We were arriving. Somewhere new. Somewhere ours. The phone stayed silent. The sirens stayed distant. And between us The heat never faded. It just changed shape. Became something quieter. Deeper. Eternal. We had one more night. One more locked door. Selene’s light vanished, her voice a fading cry. “You saved eternity, Jessica…”
