“It sounds like this is personal for you, Sir.” Carson watched as Ewan’s face went dark. He had some sort of personal vendetta against these creatures. Carson could understand. His sister had gotten mixed up with the supernatural and now lived as a wolf. He hated these creatures for taking her away from him. He could never find it in himself to kill her, though. She had faked her own death to live her life with her mate. Once Carson started looking into it, he discovered she was not only alive but a supernatural.

Although every fibre of my body said this was a bad Idea, Karen needed to know how to defend herself. Gavin arrived the next morning. I snuck out of bed to receive him. I did not have any issues with hunters. The hunter community agreed that Giles and John Hunter had gone too far. They had managed to distance themselves from Hunter's actions. Gavin helped me keep some order in town. My pack was the biggest wealthiest and the most powerful. Technically we ran the town. My uncle and I worked closely with the hunters to maintain the balance between the supernatural community and the human community.

That man happened to be Ethan. "We haven't seen anything yet, but we would welcome the extra eyes. We have more prey this year than most. Are you not watching your own women on the trek?" Ethan's father, Samuel had stepped forward to address the Kreil warrior curiously. Samuel, while slightly shorter than Ethan, was the head of Ellisvale security and was making the trip to watch out for his tribe en route. He would hopefully be watching out for his future daughter-in-law on the return journey, as Ethan was heading to his first Hunt just like Izzy, Kate, and Susanna.

Hunters were connected through a vast network and it wasn’t uncommon to run into each other out and about. Still, it gets me when they know my name and I've never seen them before. In all these years it still surprises me.
