With my small circle of friends and those who cared about me, I could already guess who was calling. "Hey, you landed safely?" Gordon, my trainer, asked. He had survived a vampire attack when he was a teenager. An attack that left a scar across his face and an even deeper one on his heart that turned him into an elite vampire hunter. Emily said to the lady as she welcomed her in. Jane has been Ethan's babysitter since he was one and the young boy has gotten so used to her that she is already family. “Jane!” Ethan screamed, as he ran to her. Jane picked him up, blowing raspberries on his stomach, making him giggle uncomfortably. “How are you, little man,” Jane asked him. “Take a look at my chocolates,” he said, picking up the chocolates he had abandoned on seeing his nanny from the floor. “Uncle Benjamin got them for me,”

After a moment of silence, he pulled his phone out. I watched his finger hover over my contact. Before he could press it, his phone rang first. My parents were calling him. "Ethan, you need to come home right away. Sienna has poisoned Vivian's dog, the one she's been raising for three years!" Ethan's eyes widened in shock. "Has that woman lost her mind? We only asked her to attend a birthday party, and now she's killing a dog? Don't worry. This time, I absolutely won't let her get away with this."

“You’re bold enough to yell at me and crazy enough to argue with me. That’s rare. And entertaining.” She crossed her arms, refusing to lose. “So you just want entertainment from your secretary?” “No,” he said flatly. “But if you’re going to babysit me—which is basically what secretaries do—I need someone who won’t faint every time I raise my voice.” She almost laughed. Ethane said with so much ease "Look at this big mansion you have. Your beautiful pets and maids" the lady added as she looked at me and the other maids who were closely watching her from a distance. "But despite all this you're still unsatisfied, you vampire. You go on a killing rampage. All for what? For fun" the lady added as she looked at Ethane with so much hate. Immediately she made that sentence Ethane's eyes widened as he looked a bit frightened. "Vampire?" Ethane unconsciously asked.

"Do you know them?" Dante asked Dae in an emotionless tone reading papers of business. "No, I don't. " Dae answered. "The big man came to get the little one and they wanted to give me some...companion." "Fine. Do you like it, the companion?" "..." Without having an answer, Dante didn't ask more and continued to mind his own business. The little Dae looked out the window counting the raindrops. It seemed that he was enjoying more the silence.

I groaned from the sudden movement. Ethan put the car in park and got out of the driver’s side before yanking Zach’s door open and pulling him out roughly, “you’re driving.” Ethan got in where Zach was moments ago and slid in close to me, “you can feed from me now.” “But you’re a vampire, too. How would that even work?” I asked him. “It’ll hold you over until we get somewhere where I can get you a blood bag or teach you to hunt. You don’t want to kill your mate from taking too much too quick, do you? Though I’m sure it’d be a pleasurable death for him.” Ethan said.

“Alright.” She disappeared down the hall. A few seconds later, her voice could be heard—soft, singing, a lullaby Ethan didn’t recognize. It was gentle, but her tone cracked like she might break at any second. He looked down at Bella sleeping peacefully. Then toward the hall. His heart pulled in both directions. That night, Ethan sat on the edge of the bed with his laptop. He scrolled through nanny agency profiles, reading resumes filled with words like certified, specialist, night nurse experience, twin and triplet-trained.

He greeted Mr Gabriel and took a seat at the back. Just before the class started Mr Gabriel walked up to his desk where he was busy working on a paper so many theories about his quick healing. Could a vampire blood turn him to one? If it was the case that meant he could be turned to a werewolf through the same process. "Ethaniel." He called, Ethan looked up nervously. Had he found out? "Yes sir." Ethan responded in a shaky tone. "Are you okay?" He asked. "Yes sir." Ethan replied his gaze going back to his sheets.
