She asked the question, but before I could answer, Meridian stepped into the clearing, walking beside Eden. And I couldn’t stop the breath that left my lips. She had sparkly pink eyes shimmering like pink stars in the night. “I am a mermaid. What are you?” she asked placing her hand on the ground so she could comfortably face them.

“My parents died and then I was all alone and –” “Alright, I get it.” Mordred cuts Kiera off brusquely.
