My mind clouded with all the hatred I had been suppressing. All I wanted in that moment was to push her down the stairs. Without thinking, I lifted my hand to shove her. But she moved away immediately. My balance slipped. I fell. “Ahhhh!” I screamed as I tumbled down the stairs, hitting my stomach several times. I landed on the last stair hard, grabbing my stomach in pain. “Ahhhhhh!” I cried loudly. The pain was unbearable. I couldn’t breathe. My vision blurred. “She’s bleeding!” someone shouted. My body felt weak… too weak… And then everything went dark. I passed out .

The room erupted in shock as soon as the words were out of Reuben's mouth. Then, there was a loud crash—Mom had collapsed on the floor. The wail of an ambulance siren wound around the high-rise buildings. Reuben got in with the medical personnel while the Gray family members sent off the guests and reporters. Marcus stood alone, his eyes bloodshot and wide with shock. Beside him, Janae seemed frightened by his reaction. She shook his arm and asked, "Mr. Gray, what's wrong? Don't scare me!"

He was quite aware that falling from these stairs wouldn't affect him much, but Anna could get seriously hurt, and he absolutely did not want that. There must have been only about 16 steps on the staircase. But as Anna fell, it felt to her as if she had fallen from an unknown height, and the stairs seemed endless. When the stairs finally ended, and they both tumbled down onto the floor, only then did Anna breathe a sigh of relief.

I finally finished up organizing the files back into their different folders and closed the conference room door shut as I headed upstairs to my room. I absent-mindedly replied to some messages on my phone as I climbed, failing to realize that the last step at the head of the stairs was extremely slippery. I tried to grip the rail as I slipped but it was too late. My stomach dropped as I felt myself falling, unable to regain balance. Time slowed down as I tried to break my fall. My arms flailed wildly, and I landed with a thud on the hardwood floor, my head coming in contact with the last step at the foot of the stairs.

A teasing smile surfaced in Ken's face. The speed at which Roy jolted up from his imagination, rattled the kitchen door and some accessories beside the door—on the slab, fell down. Roy's heart downright leaped out from his chest.

Excitement and anticipation filled me as I raced toward Liam’s room to wake him up. However, in my haste, I missed the skateboard carelessly left at the top of the stairs. My heart raced as I lost my balance and tumbled down the stairs. Time seemed to slow down as I desperately tried to grab something to stop my fall, but my efforts were futile. I hit the bottom of the stairs with a painful thud.

Every ounce of strength. She let go. Suddenly. My weight was already shifting backward from pulling so hard. My foot reached behind me, searching for solid ground. There was nothing. I’d forgotten where I was standing. Right at the edge of the stairs. My arms shot out, grasping desperately for the railing. My fingers brushed it but couldn’t hold on. I fell. My back slammed into the stairs. The air left my lungs. Then gravity took over. I was tumbling, my body hitting step after step. Each impact sent pain shooting through me.

I turned the handle and got the door opened. Then I walked out of the room and may stairs. Oh God. Could my day get any worse? I leaned on the wall and slowly walked down the stairs, taking it one step at a time. My head was still aching and my legs shivered as I walked down the stairs which doesn't seem to have an end. I became very scared and worried for myself. What if I fell down the stairs? It was only a matter of time before I would do so and I think it's better right now that I stayed put.

These students are unbelievable. I was still going through my phone, when I felt a hand push me down the stairs. I wasn't able to keep my balance so I ended up falling, rolling down the long staircase till I landed on the plane ground. I wince in pain, I slowly close my eyes as darkness clouded me.

Panic surged within me as I tumbled down the staircase, the world spinning in disarray. "Chester!" I gasped, the name escaping my lips in a desperate plea as I descended into the abyss of the staircase. The pain that followed was a group of sharp jolts that ricocheted through my body with each impact. Darkness beckoned as I hurtled toward the inevitable collision at the staircase's bottom. The descent felt eternal, like a harrowing journey through a tunnel of pain and fear. With each turn, I clung to the hope that Chester would hear my call. I wanted him to hear me fall, to intervene and save me from the impending doom.
