Small lights appeared around me one by one, glowing softly like floating stars. Hundreds of them surrounded my falling body until the void no longer looked empty. It looked familiar, too familiar.

“Then embrace it, my love,” he murmured, his voice a dark lullaby. “Let the darkness take hold, let it fill you with power.” I closed my eyes, surrendering to the sensations flooding my body.
