mira muttered, her eyes filled with dread. “premature awakening?” I repeated, “it seems you know much about this.” “yes I do, but—” she paused, looking at me weirdly. “But what?” I raised a brick, then my eyes went down on my body, checking to see what she was looking” “How are you still strong?” she asked, confusion in her eyes. “What do you mean?” my eyes narrowed. More confused than she was. “premature awakening. Is a wicked act, where your brain is invaded and then your powers are triggered by an artificial manipulated dream.” she explained, the shock still registered on her face.

"Because the seal is breaking, and when it does, you must be ready." A sudden, sharp pain shot through my body. I gasped, clutching my chest as heat seared through my veins. My vision blurred, and the white space around me cracked, like shattered glass. "What’s happening to me?" I cried out. "The awakening has begun," she said, her voice distant. "You must—" Her words cut off as the world around me shattered completely. I jolted awake, gasping for air. The cold water of the lake surrounded me, but something was wrong. The surface was no longer calm... it moved violently, glowing with an eerie silver light. My limbs felt heavy as if something was pulling me down.

I had no idea it was this late. Jace stirs beside me and I immediately turn my attention to him. "Jace! Are you awake? It is me, Amy. We are safe. Dwayne is gone," I blubber nervously. The black wolf's eyes flutter open. I stare into his eyes and with deep joy that he is finally awake. I hold his head in my hands and continue pleading. "I am so glad you are finally awake. You have been unconscious for so long. I was so afraid you would never wake up."

Then I woke up. My soul had settled back into my body like water poured into an empty vessel trying to adjust the strange yet familiar shape. Even so, my sense eluded me, it felt like I was still stuck in that place of nothingness. Like I was still dead, still trapped by forces unseen and all powerful. Tap. Tap. The first thing to return was sound.
