The black water churned violently below, filled with chemical waste, rotting corpses, blood, and dangerous liquids dumped there after the apocalypse began. As the infected slowly closed in around her once again, Ara breaks down over everything she sacrificed for Ryan only to be abandoned like she meant nothing. Standing at the edge of the poisoned river with death waiting behind her, Ara makes one final vow. “If I could start again… I would never be this weak.” She throws herself into the chemical-filled river and disappears into the darkness below.

The first one was about the history of the pack, but it got kind of boring, so now I'm reading a fanfiction story about werewolves and vampires that someone wrote. Even though the werewolf and vampire story has some things in it that aren't true, I didn’t mind because I could tell it was written by a human. "Rachel," I said quietly, knowing that she was sitting behind me while I kept reading through all these papers. "Yes, Lady Denera?" Rachel answered, speaking softly and calmly. I let my thoughts linger for a moment, wondering if I should ask about what was on my mind. After carefully considering it for a bit, I decided to go ahead and ask.

I made a funny face. “Stop lying, Dax. You are actually doing this so you could also be involved in planning the ceremony.” “Why are you still pretending not to like the couple?” I asked as we walked out the door. Dax held the door for me and walked right behind me. “I am not pretending, Raven! I don't like them plus isn't it weird that Dylan now has a mate?” he asked, nudging me. I chuckled softly, shaking my head in amusement. “I see what you are trying to do. You are trying to recruit me into your hate party,”

She continues to focus on Xander only for a few short paragraphs, detailing his politics and his forced subjection of Sarah, and Jessica, and their mother. After a minute or two, she parted her lips and whispered, "Stay with me.” Candy nodded. "Okay." Tears pooled in Rivera's eyes and slipped past the corners of her eyes, trailing to her ears. She whispered, her voice vulnerable and raw, “It was scary. I was scared." Candy's heart ached and she stretched out her hand to hold Rivera's. “Rivera." Rivera shut her eyes tight and whispered, “I thought I was going to die. I was ready to die."

I felt hot tears roll down my face as the memory of Ava's painful death flooded through my head like it happened yesterday. I was there. It all happened too fast but I stood and watched my fiance get crushed by a red truck while she tried to help a pregnant lady cross the road. Vampires of my kind were blessed with uncanny abilities to read minds, hypnosis, unfathomable speed and strength. I had all these abilities but I couldn't save the only person I had ever loved. I felt a burning sensation deep in my chest and I clutched my shirt as the burn spread down my stomach.

However, she did not even look at Philip but glanced at Cynthia instead and asked, “Is this the best friend you mentioned? She hardly drove it. I made my way back to the frat house. Once I reached my room I dropped everything on the bed. So River is not Raven, then why is it that I felt this foreign feeling for her?
