" And Jayden had to laugh. It was a completely different style of music. When Neil and my dad nodded to them, the boys got up and joined them. Jayden asked what they should play when Debby called out. »Fast car!!! By Tracy Chapman! You can do that, can't you?” Jayden laughed and immediately started playing. My dad got in and so did Neil. Simon let it play and just sang along. It was so nice to hear them all sing. Even Debby sang along. I knew that song too, just from guitar nights with Neil and Dad.

My Song To My Alpha's Heart

My Song To My Alpha's Heart

Get ready to go down sucker… I have the perfect song! I close my eyes for a second, getting in character, and channelling my emotions to the most vulnerable time in my life “You got a fast car, I want a ticket to anywhere. Maybe we make a deal, Maybe together we can get somewhere…” I start singing ‘Fast Car’ by Tracy Chapman. “You gotta make a decision, Leave tonight, or live and die this way….” I finish, softly... I look over at Xan. He is looking out the window.

I cant remember how I came across this story, but Im so glad I did. It pulls you in right from the beginning, twirls you around and throws you straight into this incredible world, the author has created. I freaking love it. If i could give more stars I would. I'll just give jems instead ...

Wingless and Beautiful

Wingless and Beautiful

I closed my eyes, and before I knew it, I was singing, “You got a fast car… I want a ticket to anywhere. Maybe we make a deal, maybe together we can get somewhere…” That song touched me in many ways. I knew Hunter felt the same way too. At first, I thought it was quite ironic for him to play a song called ‘Fast Car’ when he lost so much in a car accident. But then again… that was a good sign, wasn’t it? Acceptance was always the first step to moving forward. Like playing ‘Cats in The Cradle’ was a form of acceptance on my part that things were never going back to the way they used to be, but that didn’t mean I won’t find happiness again. When we finished, he turned to me. “You could make a c

Beautiful love story, one of the most unique plots I’ve read so far with. Very touching & emotional but still realistic. Also it’s rare plotpoint that Hero & heroine are each other’s firsts. Technically well-written - no grammatical errors! Wish there were more Hero’s POV, but loved it anyway.

Wow, truly beautiful story. Started out fast and kept improving. Cried a lot in the beginning (had to pause until I calmed down). Also, laughed at times. The characters were very mature and I’m glad Hunter and Alice were able to overcome the trauma in their lives. Well written. Worth reading.

Married To My Billionaire Boss

Married To My Billionaire Boss

The car moved on, headed for her bank. The song changed to country romance. Her heartbeat doubled. The lyrics of the song were very relatable. Her toes twitched agitatedly in her shoes. Charlie's hand rubbed hers expertly. The car was a smart one, and rarely needed him to change gears. So, his hand could be fully engaged. Then they got to a small traffic jam.

I look at Steven and give him my best death glare ever and leave the beautiful room. "Oh do trust Steven to ruin your day- HEY, MOVE YOUR CAR! THE TRAFFIC LIGHT JUST TURNED GREEN!" I shout at the car before me, “YOU DO KNOW THAT IT IS RUSH HOUR RIGHT?!” Okay maybe I do need to calm down. I plug in my USB and go to my favorite sound track. “Take this fainted heart Take this tainted hands Wash me in your love Come like grace again Even when my strength is lost I'll praise you Even when I have no song

The CEO's Puzzling Obsession

The CEO's Puzzling Obsession

Ethan opened the door of his sleek black car, and Amanda sank into the plush leather seat, feeling a sense of relief wash over her. Silence enveloped the car as Ethan navigated through the bustling streets, the soft hum of the engine providing a soothing backdrop. "Happy" by NF started playing on the car's sound system, its lyrics resonating with Ethan's affinity for the artist's music. The rhythmic beats accompanied their journey, creating a backdrop of emotional intensity as they drove past New Hilton's iconic landmarks.

How To Sing - Feisty Series (3 of 5)

How To Sing - Feisty Series (3 of 5)

None of my brothers said a word, likely all holding their breath like me. She started to sing, a slight rasp to her voice similar to Jude. But not Jude. More … soulful. Lyrics that fit her circumstances almost, since as she sang I felt her pain. I felt her pouring herself into it. When it was over she went right into “Midnight Special,” by CCR. Again with the same profound sense of having lived it. That’s what Feisty’s lyrics were. They were us, raw and real. Except our recent album bullshit but it is what it is.

Beneath The Scars

Beneath The Scars

Is it the look in your eyes, Or is it this dancing juice? Who cares baby, I think I wanna marry you. Well I know this little chapel on the boulevard we can go, No one will know, Come on girl. Who cares if we're trashed got a pocket full of cash we can blow, Shots of patron, And it's on girl. Don't say no, no, no, no-no; Just say yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah-yeah; And we'll go, go, go, go-go. If you're ready, like I'm ready.

The Kane Contract: Vows of Venom

The Kane Contract: Vows of Venom

I don’t care. “Faster,” I say. Voice low. Urgent. He floors it. We hit 80 on surface streets. Then 90. Then 110 on the freeway stretch. Rain lashes the windshield. Wipers flying. The city lights streak past in blurred red and white. Five minutes in, the second contraction. She leans forward. Gasps. Fingers crush mine. I start counting again. Faster. In… two… three… four… The car swerves around a slow sedan. Horns scream. The driver doesn’t slow.

Frequently Asked Questions

Snow Patrol's 'Chasing Cars' is one of those songs that just sticks with you, isn't it? The lyrics are hauntingly beautiful, and I completely get why you'd want to find them. You can easily track them down on lyric websites like Genius or AZLyrics—just search for the song title, and they’ll pop up with the full text, often even including annotations about the meaning behind certain lines. I love how Genius breaks down the emotional weight of phrases like 'If I lay here, if I just lay here, would you lie with me and just forget the world?' It’s like peeling back layers of a heartfelt conversation.

Spotify and Apple Music also display lyrics in real time if you’re listening to the track, which is super handy if you want to sing along. Sometimes, though, there’s nothing quite like watching the official music video on YouTube with subtitles turned on—it adds this visceral layer to the words, especially with how the visuals amplify the song’s melancholy warmth. Fun side note: I once stumbled on a live acoustic version where Gary Lightbody’s voice cracks ever so slightly during the chorus, and it wrecked me in the best way. The lyrics hit differently when you hear them raw like that.
