Lurking In The Dark - Book 1

Lurking In The Dark - Book 1

I could only hope that she would have settled in again by tonight, because otherwise I would be allowed to sleep on the couch one night again - and it was really uncomfortable. Sighing, I leaned back and opened the completely tattered book again, which I actually already knew by heart. But I wanted to repeat as much as possible today so that I could get off to a good start tomorrow. I ran my finger over the familiar table of contents. Foreword, evolution, instinct, social life, physiology, reproduction, ancestry, stem groups and subspecies. How many times had I made this movement with my finger? I couldn't count it anymore, but it was like a little ritual I had to go through before I could s

SEDUCING MY BESTFRIEND'S BROTHER

SEDUCING MY BESTFRIEND'S BROTHER

"New York after London requires recalibration. The pace is different." "Faster," I said. "Denser," he said. "It's not faster exactly. It's more concentrated." He held his coffee. "More things happening in less space." "That's always been true," I said. "I know. I forgot what it felt like from the inside versus describing it to people." We were quiet for a moment. The rain said everything that needed saying about the weather. "The bookstore book," he said. "The fermentation one. Did it get better after chapter three?"

LIGHT AFTER DARK

LIGHT AFTER DARK

But Lara did… and it hurt her more than what he did to her three years back. Since she was left alone by Christophe and Francine, she went off to explore after dinner, wandering through beautifully furnished and decorated reception rooms that were lifeless. Lara was delighted to come upon a library and, locating the English section, selected ‘Jane Eyre’, her favorite. She hadn’t read it for several years. But Charlotte Brontë failed her for the very first time. Lara found it impossible to concentrate. Standing up again, she cast the book aside and stepped through the curtains to open the French windows that featured in virtually every room. She walked along the terrace. As Lara passed by ope

Secrets Written in Light

Secrets Written in Light

I shook my head slowly, taking my foster mother's arm, "Let's not interfere. The Tracy we once knew is long gone." My foster mother gave my arm a comforting pat, "You've always been braver than me. If that kid had pushed a little harder back then, it might've been you lying there." I smiled, shaking my head, "It's all in the hands of fate." It was all in the hands of fate.

A Farewell to the Dark Past

A Farewell to the Dark Past

Its headlights dazzled my eyes, forcing me to squint against the bright glare. The car passed by me but soon slowly reversed. Then, the person inside rolled down the window and called out carefully, "Wendy?" Hearing the voice, I lifted my head. When I saw the person, emotions stirred within me. It was Lucas White. He was my ex-boyfriend, the man who had sent me to prison. The atmosphere in the car was eerily quiet, with only the sounds of pouring rain and the steady hum of the air conditioning. Lucas seemed irritated as he lit a cigarette and took a couple of impatient drags. When he heard me coughing, he immediately stubbed it out.

Nemesis Of The Lycan Triplets

Nemesis Of The Lycan Triplets

About a certain one that bore the mark of divinity, which would bring both terror and peace… it sounded like a fairy-tale, but it was pleasing to read, pleasing and time-consuming. I was only able to cover three books because I had activated El’s speed reading, only that I had blown through the protein and chocolate bars I had come with. And now I was running on empty. El believed I should head out before I fainted in the library and became entrapped by the Queen. I thought so too, but only after I have finished this fourth book, which I was reading at a slower pace, at a normal pace. “Do you think it would be noticed if we take some books home?” I asked aloud.
