He’s family.” I said as the camera flashed, capturing my disheveled heroism.

I said, tilting my head, curls bouncing, “how’s the whole saving-lives-and-fighting-fires thing?” He raised a brow. “That’s how you think of it?” “Yes,” I said firmly, “with all the drama of a TV show. Lots of fire, lots of shouting, heroic rescues in slow motion.” Ace gave a low chuckle, shaking his head. “It’s not like that. Half the time, it’s routine calls. Alarms going off for burnt toast.
