I nodded and swallowed hard. “Now retrieve your wings, honey.” “What wings? I have wings!” My eyes nearly popped out of each socket. My heart pounded so hard in my rib cage, and I instantly felt the air pulsing around us. I didn’t want to look behind me over my shoulder. I was scared for it to be true. “You’re not helping, Sebastien,” Zarah said cautiously. “Not wings like physical wings. They’re glowing, like 3D lights, the same as when you summoned the fire, but yes, you have wings,” Ren tried to explain but I completely understood what he meant.

I glanced upward. A light. Small. Glowing. A firefly? No—more. Many. Wings like flame. They danced above the water, then… they drifted toward my arrows. I backed away, heart thudding. They circled the arrowheads—then landed. “Nay…” I whispered. I tried to wave them off, but they did not budge. Then the fireflies glowed brighter—and to my awe—my arrows began to burn. The tips lit with soft, steady flame.

Then, I took out an A3 paper from the briefcase and spread it across the table. It was a curved flight path, overlapping on the city map. "This is the flight path of the Cessna with the registration number B-10YZ between 2:00 pm and 4:00 pm on the same day. This aircraft…" I stared at him. "…is owned by Zach Airways." A flicker of tension crossed Zachary's face. Under the light, his face turned as pale as a sheet as he swallowed hard. Mike fixed his eyes on the two documents for a long time before he gradually raised his head. "Mr. Zachary, this weather report…"

Marian asks, distressed. “It’s the venom. Eros isn’t well,” I say, watching as Eros rises from the floor. He looks taller now, and his spread wings are so beautiful I lose myself staring at them. I’ve only ever seen fairy wings—and few at that; there weren’t many in my village. Eros’s are coal-black, with a claw at each tip, the membrane veined with faint cracks. “Are you sure you’re all right? You can tell us if something’s wrong,” Adrian presses. I blink a few times; Eros’s eyes—still black but now tinged red—are locked on me.

“It’s a umbrella for you. Butterfly wings are big enough to keep out the rain.” Jenny took the piece of paper in her hands. The paper made a “rustling” sound as it moved between her fingers. The crayon colors left marks on her fingerprints—pink, blue, brown, green—standing out sharply against her pale skin. She looked down at the butterfly. Its wings were pink, with asymmetrical patterns: three dots on the left wing and two on the right. The butterfly’s body was brown, and its antennae were blue, bending to form two question-mark-shaped arcs on the paper.

Maleficent turned into a hundred black butterflies – escaping the onslaught of the deadly feather with only a hair breadth away. The flutters of the butterflies welcomed the wide-eyed angel. He had to swerve his body in order to avoid hitting the solid Willow tree instead. Angelo followed the flock of pure black butterflies that flew together like a shadow, leaving a trail of green flames. When the butterflies created enough safe distance against Angelo, Maleficent’s image materialized in the center of the slaughter butterflies she commanded.

And there Right before our eyes Is a training ground full of creatures of every species, shape or size you could think of. Littered between them are… wow! … real life angels. I mean you hear stories but I could never picture it fully. They have these massive wings made of feathers or membrane. Some look like flowing water. Some like solid rock. Wings of all colours. No one pair look the same. Holly shot balls! They can retract and extend their wings! “You’ve stopped. What’s happened?” Roy’s voice sounds in my ear. “It’s all here.” Milo whispers back. “The east is probably the best attack point.”
