November had it rough; she was born female, not a son to whom her father could leave the Pack to. What’s more heartbreaking is the fact that her mother is not her Father’s mate; her father had certainly made it clear he had no intention of marking November’s mother his. Meaning there’s no love between them, which made November’s existence a possible threat to the future Mate and child of her father. One day her father will find a mate and bear a child with her. But having the general rule of life, the first born will have everything of the father owned. And November is the first born.

It could wait for a few seconds. "I'll kill him. She'll be mine. And her baby... I'll think about him later." I inhaled sharply. " There were three people in the room. I couldn't see his face. His back was on me." I kept my eyes closed. "You can't kill her baby. Mini is also pregnant. According to the rules of the family, the Firstborn will be the heir." A shiver ran down my spine. I was still breathing because I was pregnant and Tom's wife. Tears slipped down my closed eyes.

“Push, wife. I’m right here. You’ve done this before. You’re the strongest person alive.” The battle raged around us. Elara’s voice broadcast over the chaos. “The Apex Heir arrives. Perfect timing. Surrender the child and live.” With one final, agonizing push, our eleventh child entered the world — a girl. Tiny. Fierce. With a cry that cut through the explosions. Damien held her first, tears cutting through the grime on his face, then placed her on my chest. “Eleven,” he whispered in awe. “Our family.”

“Almost there, my love. Take a deep breath. Let us welcome the future of our dynasty together, this very morning.” Liora squeezed her eyes shut, gathering every last reserve of tactical energy and mental fortitude she possessed to guide her through the most critical moments of her life as a new mother. Within the ruthless, rigid reality of the industrial world, the birth of this child symbolized absolute victory over every act of bureaucratic betrayal whether originating on land or sea that had ever tried to bring them down. Waaah! Waaah! Waaah! The sound of the newborn’s first cry loud, clear, piercing, and powerful instantly shattered the dawn silence stretching across the entire Long Isla

I sighed. I turned to the first story and started reading. I read story after story. Some were interesting, some were familiar, some were bizarre. Then, more than halfway through the book, I found it. The very first line read, "There once was a young girl. Her wolf had no name." It was titled, 'Child of Stars', kind of fitting since my Dad's wolf is Starfire. My wolf chimed in with her usual pessimism, 'It won't help.'

I took a deep breath before opening the first page. pass down to every first child the power to rule above all, a mate of extraordinary genes and wisdom. A child of the goddess….. I read it all out, I was not the first but the second, every other page made mention of a first child, for centuries, each generation has only been blessed with a single heir making power conflict. a gift and the greediness of mankind.

Dear readers - Rejected by one Alpha, Loved by another was the first book of this series. It was based on Esme and Jax's story, which was my first novel. I will be going through the novel and re-editing it, finding common ground with names and places, which was a big part of what went wrong in the novel itself. I really enjoyed writing it and I am happy to announce that the follow-up book - The Alpha's Skater Mate is based on Esme and Jax's daughter.

Girls traveling alone were viewed with suspicion. I would venture to the edges of various villages to feed before retreating into the mountains once again. It was a lonely life, growing lonelier as the villages began to sprawl, and child brides went out of fashion. As time passed I turned to luring children away to feed on. It was on one such occasion that I ran across another of my kind. He brought with him the first news I had of my maker since we had gone our separate ways.
