Before we could understand what it was doing, it had submitted itself to the flame that was blazing on the top of the Allexart stand. “No!” I screamed as I saw the flames blaze higher, engulfing the beam of light in its inferno. Tears hazed my vision as I realized who the beam of light was. “Why did you do this? Why….” I whispered as the tears broke the dam and flowed freely down the cheeks.

The silver burns my hands the moment I grip the chains. I feel it light up my palms immediately, searing and insistent, and I do not let go. I do not even consider letting go. I keep try to free him from the chains and I breathe through the burning and I let it mean nothing because it is nothing compared to him sitting here in the dark bleeding and it is nothing compared to what I felt when the bond went silent and it is nothing, it is absolutely nothing, compared to the way he just said my name.

His hands started to form golden seals that quickly fused into nine dragons that danced in the air! Desmond pushed forward, and the nine dragons shot at Fane at the same time. The dragons opened their mouths to spew out fire, but Fane did not even raise an eyebrow as he flicked his left hand, which held the Soul Chain. And it’s not just what’s on the ground, either. I see the flash of Cora’s lightening in the distance, but some helicopters manage to get into the air, heading for the flame. Derek spluttered wide eyed as he backed away from Marc. “Oh… didn’t you know? My family are immune to silver, it’s a brilliant gene. Now...” He struck Derrek hard with the sole of his foot. Derek stumbled until he fell into the chair behind him. He yelped when his hands gripped the silver cuff attached to the arm. Quick as a flash, Marc had placed both the male’s wrists within the cuffs, locking them in place. The cuffs were just large enough that the silver didn’t bite unless he moved. Marc retrieved the bag and placed it on the cot. He tapped his chin as he took the items of torture from the bag, lining them neatly on the cot for Derrek to see.
