The Assassin
I’m not sure if it’s the vibrations of my growl or my control of her neck, but the voices become quiet and all I can hear are wracking sobs in my head.
Oh Zephyr, my poor, distraught girl.
She lands again, almost as if she’s forgotten me on her back. She lifts her head to the sky and screams. This time, it’s a scream of anguish, rather than rage.
I look around, afraid to move, knowing that once she remembers that I’m here, the fight will be back on.
