"Strip," I froze after hearing what the devil himself said. I didn't know what to or what to say. He smirked, pleased by my weak and vulnerable state. I hugged myself tighter, afraid. How to escape? What kind of sick joke is this? I raised my shaking eyes, daring for the first time to meet his fixing gaze. He stood there in all his glory, waiting for me to submit to his sinful demand. A tear slipped down my face, looking at the door, hoping, praying someone would come and save me from this shameless man in front of me.

Chapter Eighteen: Digital princess Freya leaned back in her chair, the glow of her laptop screen painting her face in shades of midnight blue. The apartment was quiet except for the occasional clatter from her fingers tapping the keyboard. Outside, the city slumbered under a haze of streetlights and muffled car horns, but inside, she was wide awake and completely feeling giddy. She clicked through tabs, smirking at the notifications piling up. “Has anyone else noticed Xander Savage’s weird side?”

Freya’s character is tied to an exclusive book, which means her story can only be written as an exclusive for Goodnovel. SO, WHAT’S NEXT? I’ll be preparing to write a non-exclusive book that will still be available on Goodnovel. After that, I’ll return to write Freya’s story. As for when? I don’t have a specific timeline yet—but a promise is a promise, and I’ll definitely come back to it.

I slip into the leggings and sweater instantly feeling much warmer from the long simple t-shirt I was wearing previously. “Oh, you know… the rogue leader with bad teeth… I think you called him Hobbit Gallum?” A young teenage boy walks over to Freya with his cup, and she pours him some more water. She smiles at him with such love that it just fuels the fire in me even more to help these kids and Freya to escape.

The dark permeates the air, fermenting into something tangible, something horrifying, and I breathe it in. Everything is burning. I fumble around, searching through the blankets and flinging everything I touch away from me until I finally see my phone. Kieran comes up as a suggested number, and I click it straight away, my breaths still shuddering painfully out of me. He picks up almost immediately, but I die a thousand deaths in the span of that one second. “Mateo? Are you crying? Where are you?!” Just hearing his voice allows me to take in a gulp of air.
