Vivienne I am on my way to the library with a pile of books. The librarian phoned me to get the books from grade 10 and bring them back to the library. Well, that’s part of my job as a student assistant. I was near the stair down the library room when someone pulled the pile of books I am holding. It was all over the floor. I saw Szane and her friends being the culprit. “So where are your loser friends huh? Do you think you can beat me just like that?”

As usual, I’m at the library. Having a lot of books on my table and reading them one by one. It’s already time to go home but I don’t want to go home yet because I have no one to welcome me there other than the maids and butlers. I never get along with my classmates since elementary and I never made real friends so I am always alone with my books during break times. I am always at my favorite spot here in the library and the librarian is familiar with me because I am frequently here.

I turned to the man who was now talking to the vampire woman I bumped into. "He is, but not a bee, more like a moth..." Freya snorted. The librarian has arrived with a book. "This is the only thing we have here in our library, Ms. Freya. If you'll borrow it, I will give it to you until next week to return it," she said. Freya looked at me so I nodded for her to take it. "Are you leaving now Freya? You haven't introduced us to your beautiful companion yet?" asked a woman in the group we met at the baseball field of the school. A man ran up to us and shook my hand so I accepted.

I quickly went to his table and pick up the book. As I walk towards the hallway, everyone is busy. When I reach the library, I can hear the librarian's angry voices again. I quickly open the door and went to her. "Ms. Librarian, getting angry and always frowning can cause wrinkles." She quickly calm her pace and smiled at me. I put the book on the counter table and went outside. The librarian and I became friends when I always came here to review my exams, borrowing books and reading time pass books. Library has always been my place lately.

I used to be a loser in the library club. Not the cute kind of loser either. Just the regular, invisible, get-talked-over kind. The kind people don't remember unless you're in their way. The club itself wasn't bad at all though. Quiet, kind of cozy. I guess I was friends with some of the girls in it? I don't even remember their names now. Isn't that sad? I just remember the feeling—belonging, sort of.
