Tony Olivia had come back to me and I wasn’t going to let her leave again. I planned to make sure it never happened again. My Mom was shocked by me kissing Olivia in front of her, Matt and my father. I’m sure she had a lot to deal with, her party was still in full swing, her ex-husband showed up and I caught her kissing my best friend.

I sat on my seat, working on some math questions, whilst munching on a cookie I grabbed from the orphanage kitchen earlier. So far, I've been able to handle math on my own. Though I sometimes stumble on questions which prove difficult to answer, but with the aid of several online tutorials, I'm able to overcome them. It's been three weeks since Jose and I got separated, yet it feels like forever. Coming to think of it, I realized that our friendship had become strained the moment he started dating Vera. But it only got worse after the scandal which broke it completely. I found it funny how easily a five year long friendship could shatter in a matter of days. Crazy, right?

Before I finish what I started?” I stared up at him, barely able to hold myself upright. “You won’t win this, Ross,” I growled, my voice low and menacing. “No matter what you do, I’ll find a way. And when I do, I’ll make sure you never touch anyone I care about again.” Ross’s smile faltered for a split second before he regained his composure. He pulled out a small bottle, the dark liquid inside swirling as he waved it in front of my face. His smirk was cold, his eyes gleaming with sick satisfaction.

He smiled, leaning off the wall, going back to the house. “Who were you talking to? Some whore?” He glanced back to see Jack following after him. “You can hook me up.” Jack continued, “Looks like she needs some care.” He chuckled but didn’t reply. Thankfully Jack hadn’t heard the part where he called 'the whore' his best friend. Entering into the living room, he almost gagged. Cigarettes, weed, alcohol were being passed round and consumed. He had just been gone for a few minutes. “Hey mate, come on in!” one of Jack's friends shouted. He hesitated but was pushed in by Jack.

Only a few machines, powered by their internal batteries, flickered faintly. In the dark, Katie screamed, "Ah! What happened?" "The power's out!" came the nurse's voice. "Ashton! Are you crazy?" Jason's voice was filled with panic and anger. I lay on the ground, gasping for air. The tape over my mouth had loosened from my sweat. I tore it off. Feeling the warm liquid drip from my forehead, I smiled. In the dark, my smile must've looked savage. Crazy? Yes, I was crazy.

Talking about nothing. Then stopping. Then starting again. It became painfully obvious neither of us knew how to end the night naturally. Kevin rubbed the back of his neck lightly. “I had a really good time tonight.” Something in his tone made my chest tighten unexpectedly. “I did too,” I admitted softly.
