This made Diana’s frown to deepen. Ounce per painful ounce, change surged around the body of Gelong. What was once his lean body grew into a scaled and feathered serpent’s lithe stature. The innocent face distorted into the fierce contours of a predator. Its brown hair grew and, from the tips, the color changed into a snow-white one like Gelong’s hair. His limbs turned into masculine legs, sporting pairs of razor-like claws. The flapping wings almost blew Diana away, her hands reaching to her belly in instinct.

She heard Daniel call her name, confused, maybe even concerned, but she didn’t stop. She sprinted up the stairs into the guest room, nearly knocking Daniel over as he opened the main door. She slammed the door shut and locked it just in time. Then it happened. Her knees gave out, and her body convulsed. She fell to the floor, eyes glowing fully now. Her limbs stretched unnaturally, bones cracking and reshaping. Her mouth opened but no scream came—just a low growl that turned into a piercing howl muffled into a pillow. Her clothes tore apart as fur erupted from her skin, and within moments, Freya was no longer human.

It was as if time slowed down, allowing every calculated step to unfold with meticulous grace. The tension in the air grew palpable, a suffocating embrace that held the battlefield captive. I became taller and a bit fatter and I felt my pupils dividing into two. My abs got deeper and my chest got broader. My skin turned red and scaley. I got claws on my hand and feet. My teeth turned triangular, sharp and pointy and among them my canine grew longer. I wanted it all to stop. I gave a loud roar at the end. Linda and Diana looked as shocked as they could ever be as they watched my transformation. Tears slowly dropped down their eyes and their mouths remained open. Pablo and Freddy's soul were still whaling and seemed not to recognize anything or anyone here anymore.

Suddenly, I heard sharp cracking sounds emanating from his body. As I watched in horror, his skin began to ripple and change, and fur sprouted across his arms and torso. Claws extended from his fingers, glinting menacingly under the dim light. The transformation was surreal, almost unimaginable, as his form continued to shift into a beastly figure.
