Diane Dawn is a betrayal. It doesn't bring light, only shades of gray, detailing with cruel precision the scene of my imprisonment: the cold gilding, the luxurious fabrics that smother, the slumbering silhouette of the monster in his armchair. His breathing is steady, deep. A light snore, almost human, escapes his lips. This normalcy is the worst insult.

Remy asks cautiously. Nina doesn’t blink. “I see Paige,” she whispers, “and I see the dawn.” A shiver rolls down my spine, awakening the pulse under my skin. “What does that mean?” Parker asks gently. Nina lifts her chin. “She is the dawn. The beginning of something new. The end of something old. The light that hunters cannot stand under. You feel it, don’t you? All of you.” The guys go still, because she’s not wrong.

Druida P.O.V. The pale grey of dawn always was a comfort for me, as it takes over from the penetrating darkness of night. Not that I do not like the night, I do; it’s quiet and I can get work done during the night that would never work in the day. But dawn always was my favourite part of the day; the perfect mix between night and day - quiet still, but promising noise soon, just not yet.

They stayed on the porch until the early hours of the morning, watching as the sky gradually lightened with the promise of a new day. As the first light of dawn painted the horizon in hues of pink and gold, Theo and Mama Hazel knew that they had witnessed something special in the clear sky and the beauty of the night. It was a reminder of the resilience of the human spirit, the beauty of nature, and the power of love to illuminate even the darkest of nights.

On it, someone had written with a childish scrawl: "Reconciliation Ticket." "You promised me, Shana, that no matter what I did wrong, you'd give me a chance when I showed this to you," he begged. "We've been by each other's side for 15 years, in love for eight years. Is everything so worthless to you that you can forget about it so easily?"
