I step forward with Clay keeping a strong hold of me offering support, these people have suffered.
They are malnourished and dirty, the children look wild eyed and scared, how can anyone do this to their own people. I can see how proud they are, my heart hurts for them and a strange sense of responsibility to them falls over me like a heavy weight, almost as suffocating as their hope I can feel coming off them as if it is visible.
“Stand, please!” I say in a loud calm voice, my wolf stands tall in my mind, shaking out her fur and accepting her responsibility to these people.
