He took a sip of his water and let out a dry snort. "Well," Allen muttered sarcastically, "there goes our historic peace treaty. Flipped entirely upside down by a ten-pound loaf of bread." Joanna marched back over, plunking the furious bird president safely onto his vine perch, and immediately snatched Titan off the ground. She clamped her hand around the little corgi's muzzle, forcing him to look her straight in the eye. "Titan, cut it out!" Without preamble, she tossed the stubby dog through the air to Jake, who caught the squirming loaf with practiced ease.
