Married To My Husband's Sworn Enemy
It was dusk when I first saw him again.
Gabriel.
Not the weapon, not the ghost—but the man I knew once, somewhere behind blood and brainwashing. He stood by the lake with a scarf over his face, watching the twins skip stones.
He said nothing. Just watching them play.
I walked up behind him.
“You’re late,” I said gently.
He didn’t turn. “I’m not here to stay.”he replied softly.
“You saved them, Gabriel. You helped end it.”
“I ended nothing,” he said. “I saw something… in the north. A facility. Not the Architect-branded. But it's new. Young, fast. Obsessed with bio-augmentation. They call it Syndicate Seraphina.”
