The Day She Stopped Waiting

The Day She Stopped Waiting

Like something had convinced life to stay away. Then Eryx looked toward the cliffs. Then: "I don't like this." Then Valen nodded. Then: "Neither do I." The first sign appeared shortly before sunset. A city gate. Ancient. Massive. Carved directly into the mountainside. Then everyone stopped. Immediately. Because the gate should have been impossible. The structure was enormous. Larger than any city entrance they had ever seen. Covered in silver stone. Covered in symbols. Covered in time.

10 chapters in and I hope it’s second chance book. I love a good “leaving my shitty husband for a better man” plot but sometimes I love a good “I need to get my wife back” plot as well. Sometimes I want to read about how a relationship was pulled back from the brink and I feel this is goi to be it.

Serra envied her sister for that because it was something that she lacks. There were six of them that stood near the gate. The gate was made of huge and thick slabs of wood painted in brown with the village's symbol at the centre - each half of the gate and the symbol formed when the gate closed. The wall stood high as ever, blocking her view of the outside world. There were towers above the wall where archers occupy, bow and arrow ready and a cauldron of fire beside them.

The closer they drew, the more the Gate stirred. At the top of the stairs, the tower yawned open to the night. The Crescent Gate stood before him—silent, but alive. A pulse thrummed through the air, deep and resonant. Veyron faced the Crescent Gate. The ancient archway exuded an enigmatic aura, containing the knowledge of ages long forgotten. It did not speak, yet Veyron knew that within lay a language beyond words. The Gate was alive with energy, pulsing in rhythm with his presence, acknowledging his authority as its chosen guardian.

“I passed notes. Not Revelations.” Larkam smiled faintly before growing serious. “Gabriel didn’t destroy the mirror. He couldn’t. Only seal it. There’s an old text—one few have seen. It speaks of a gate, guarded by hellhounds, buried during a sandstorm that wiped out a Sumerian civilisation.” He stepped to a side door and pushed it open. Beyond, stairs wound downward into shadow. “Come,” he said. “There’s more you need to see.” The Chamber Below

“An ancient gateway, probably built by the same civilization that created the crystal. This must be how they contained whatever was down here.” Ethan approached the door, his fingers brushing against the symbols. As he did, the patterns began to shift and change, rearranging themselves into a language he didn’t recognize but somehow understood. “It’s a warning,” he said slowly, reading the symbols aloud. “‘Beyond this gate lies the Abyss, where the darkness sleeps. Disturb it at your peril, for its hunger knows no bounds.’” Lena shuddered, stepping back from the door. “We can’t go in there. We have to find another way out.”

Even if he were much more powerful than he was currently, it would be impossible to detect the aura had he missed it. James vanished and reappeared outside the city where he sensed Jabari’s aura. He looked ahead at the ancient-looking city. The city looked very old and was large. The city gate alone was hundreds of thousands of meters high. There were not many buildings in the city, only some majestic spiritual mountains that towered into the sky and radiated exceptionally strong energy. On the tall city gate were a few mysterious inscriptions engraved—Boundless Holy Land. The Boundless Welkin’s cornerstone was the Boundless Holy Land. Many of Boundless Welkin’s powerhouses settled around th

This end is terrible. I strongly believe there is a volume 2 or part 2. I refuse to be left hanging and thinking of a million ways the whole thing played out. Patiently waiting for volume 2............

"Don't let your guard down, even for a second !" They continued moving forwards but with extreme caution now. After walking for 2 more hours in the narrow passage, they finally reached a dark hollow region that seemed like a dead-end, but it wasn't. A big black square gate with indiscernible gibberish written on it was standing tall and blocking the path. The black Gate was around 20 meters tall. It looked like an ancient craft that had been left untouched for eternity. The most eye-catching thing about the gate was that its structure was remarkably symmetrical.

THE ALPHA'S BILLIONAIRE ROGUE: HER TRIPLE REGRET

THE ALPHA'S BILLIONAIRE ROGUE: HER TRIPLE REGRET

"The gate's sensors are reaching critical levels. He's going to try to phase through the bars. He thinks he’s still the strongest Alpha in the territory." Elias didn't look up from Leo’s foot positioning. He adjusted the boy's stance with a gentle hand before turning his dark, unreadable gaze toward the gate. "Let him try. The bars are reinforced with silver-nitrate and woven with ancient wards. If he touches them with intent, he’ll lose more than just his dignity today".

Project Dakota: Rising of the dead

Project Dakota: Rising of the dead

It was a scar on the face of the dead world, but a scar that was healing, turning into something new. The main gate of Birkin Shelter was a formidable structure, a reinforced wall of shipping containers and scrap metal, topped with barbed wire and punctuated by two guarded watchtowers. As the blue sedan approached, a figure waved from the left tower, and the heavy, makeshift gate, mounted on shrieking metal rollers, began to grind open just wide enough for the vehicle to pass through.

Gabriel's Obsession

Mother Grace held an awareness of Gabriel's tendencies, recognizing his manipulative traits reminiscent of his father's. Amelia had been on the verge of dispelling uncertainties, preparing to unravel the sequence of events that had transpired, when the abrupt pounding of the chamber's door disrupted the atmosphere. Her gaze darted towards the entrance, revealing none other than Gabriel himself. His eyes glowed crimson with fury. Mother Grace, too, followed Amelia's line of sight, her anger camouflaged behind a veneer of neutrality. Gabriel held the power to terminate her employment – a knowledge that tethered her response.
