I would like to make new friends but I am too scared because I have mostly faced betrayal in my friendship and misjudged all the time. As I near FPU, it is really huge and looks like some sort of castle. It has few towers and looks really beautiful. It reminds me of Hogwarts Castle from Harry Potter Series. I smile at my own thought and I enter the gate. The parking lot is huge and spacious. I park my car, grab my bag from the back seat and get out. As I walk towards the main building, I bang with someone but as I am too busy to look for a notice board, I only manage to say sorry without even looking at that person.

Opening my eyes, I met Mark's fearful gaze and turned my head to find Tom face down, being subdued by two guys I had never seen before. “Miss Martin, it's good that you've calmed down.” My eyes fell on a man about Dad's age, with a Latin accent and smiling gently at me. How he could smile with everything that was happening in this room? “Do you work with Alex?” I asked once my mouth was freed. “No, Miss.” The man, without losing his good mood, proceeded to take off his white hat he wore almost to his eyes “Let me introduce myself, my name is Diego Gómez and before you say it, yes. Bo looked around and started to laugh as Kiran appeared again next to him. “How’d you do that?” Bo asked him with a smile. “Magic,” Kiran said and climbed into the car. “Is he for real?” Bo asked and I laughed but nodded my head. Bo opened the garage door for us and raised his hand in a wave as I pulled out and drove down the street. I headed to South State Street in downtown Chicago. “I’ve got a friend like him,” Kiran said and I laughed. “No, you don’t. Josh is nothing like Bo,” I said.

Slim I leaned against my car in the parking lot, waiting for the familiar sound of the bell to signal the end of the school day. Feeling restless, I absentmindedly touched the cut on my cheek, then reached for the cigarette I had tucked behind my ear. I lit it up and took a deep drag, letting the smoke fill my lungs before exhaling slowly. As the bell rang, I dropped the cigarette on the ground and extinguished it with my shoe. The doors swung open, and students spilled out, eager to escape the building. People approached me, much to my displeasure. Being popular seemed to make sense to others, but it held no appeal for me. I disliked social interactions of any kind, but I tolerated them.

My heart feels heavy with this knowledge. “C’mon, the sooner we get through the crowds the sooner we can go get some food before one of us gets hangry” Peter says putting an arm around my shoulder and walking me out of the room.
